Firefly Event Center Business Update

We want to share with you an update on what is happening with our business, Firefly Event Center. Some of you have reached out to us because you noticed that the building is up for sale. We want to confirm that it is currently up for sale. We are also still renting out the space, and looking for entertainment to bring to the community. With that, here is a little more information to help you understand our status.

We are still within our first year running the event center. We put lots of hard work and heart into updating the space. Then, we started hosting different types of events to bring a variety of opportunities for entertainment to the area. We have enjoyed building connections within the community and with the people who have attended the events.

In the midst of starting the business, we had a series of health-related family issues arise, and, while we want to remain private on this subject, it has become necessary to prioritize our time differently and focus on health and healing. As you can imagine, we have had some hard decisions to make about the Firefly.

So, we have decided to put the building up for sale. That being said, the building is still open for business! We have asked Sonja Love Dewey to join our team to help with rentals, events, and promotions. She has over 20 years of experience in communications, public relations and marketing. She also happens to be an Excelsior Springs High School alumni!

You may wonder what will happen if you rent with us and then the building gets sold. We understand the concern. If the building sells, it will be sold with a contingency in place to honor existing rental contracts at the time of sale.

Our hope is that we can begin to dedicate our time back to the event space as much as we had at the beginning of this journey. We appreciate all your support as we work to continue our efforts in creating a successful business, and also, for your understanding if we end up having to sell.

Thank you for your patience with us as we have been navigating this year of unexpected twists and turns. We look forward to seeing you at upcoming events! Join us in welcoming Sonja to the team!
