📸 Pro Tip for Parents: Take a Picture for Santa! 🎅

As a mom, I know all too well how quickly the “gimmes” can kick in when we’re out shopping with the kids. 🛒 Over the years, I’ve developed a little trick that’s turned into a fun tradition for our family—whenever my littles spot something they really want, but it’s not the right time to buy it, I say, “Okay, let’s take a picture for Santa!” 🎄

It started as a simple way to manage those in-the-moment desires, but now it’s become a memorable experiment that we all love. The kids will even remind me, “Mom, take a picture of this for Santa!” It’s a great way to keep the magic alive year round, while also teaching a little patience. 🎁

This little tip has been a lifesaver during our shopping trips, and I hope it brings some cheer and relief to your family, too. After all, Santa loves getting those wish lists early! 😉

One of my favorite things about Santa Claus Lane is how it brings together the people and connections that mean the most to me. Today, I’m rocking my favorite cowboy hat with a special twist—a custom Santa Claus Lane hat band crafted by my dear friend, Lisa, from Roshay & Co. 🌟

Lisa and I have known each other for over 20 years, and she’s become like family—literally! Through her daughter’s marriage, Lisa is now family to my best friend, making this connection even more special. It’s a small world, and an even smaller, but wonderfully big, Santa Claus Lane! 🎄

I’m so proud to showcase Lisa’s beautiful work, and you can find Roshay & Co. at Santa’s Market, holding space in the Cuddigan Leather cabin. The front of the hat says “Santa Claus Lane” - she used recycled leather and other materials to create this amazing, detachable hat band! This heartwarming event was dreamt up by a spirited woman entrepreneur, who owes the possibliity of the dream come true to her supportive family 🎁💕 Santa Claus Lane’s handcrafted wooden sign is an intentional testament to that fact! This sign was made by 4 generations, pictured here - assembled by Husband Drew, crafted with love by Grandfather Don, painted with care by Father Dave, and supported with plastic tools by Son Rex - every detail you’ll meet after the enterance sign will sparkle with that same family magic. 🌟🔨🎨

💡 Don’t Be the Smartest Person in the Room ✨

Santa Claus Lane is a fun business to talk about! I can’t tell you how many times I have heard people retract their advice, thinking they’ll step on my toes. It’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking you need to be the smartest person in the room. But the truth is, that’s not always the best approach.There will always be someone smarter, more clever, more experienced, or my ingenuititive than I am in every room...but I welcome and hope for that. I want your advice and I want to learn from you! I will be better as an entreperneur for it, and Santa Claus lane will be better as an event because of it. So PLEASE, tell me your ideas!

Here are three reasons why it’s okay not to be the smartest person in the room:

1️⃣ It keeps you humble. When you’re surrounded by people who are smarter than you, it helps you stay grounded and humble. It reminds you that there’s always something new to learn and that you’re not the only one with all the answers.

2️⃣ It encourages collaboration. When you’re not the smartest person in the room, it forces you to collaborate with others to get the job done. This can lead to more creative and innovative solutions.

3️⃣ It helps you grow. Being around people who are smarter than you can help you grow and learn new things. It’s like having a constant source of inspiration and motivation.

Meet Andrea, owner of Natural Connections - you’ll be spotting her managing the Elves at Santa Claus Lane this winter! She’s managed more events than I can count and is the calm in the event storm. We’re jolly to have her, learn from her, and grow with her!

So, next time you find yourself in a situation where you’re not the smartest person in the room, don’t be discouraged. Embrace it as an opportunity to learn and grow.
