❗️CONSTRUCTION UPDATE❗️

Here are a few of the many projects' happening around the building, we can't wait to see the community when we reopen. Stay tuned for updates.

◾New free cooling unit. This allows us to pull outdoor air in to cool the rink rather than relying solely on compressors
◾Chiller and compressors on the back wall. Circus anchors set for the floor. These are used as anchors for events like the circus that may require anchoring to the floor.
◾ Main lines for chilling the floor. This is where the cooling is sent out to the rink and then returned to the compressors. This will all be under the new slab of concrete.
◾Setting new main lines for the rink
◾ Insulation being installed. On top of the sand for the new rink
◾ Final piping being installed. This piping is what will chill the rink.
◾Old ticket booth windows being filled in for comms project. This project will provide a public Wi-Fi, separate vendor Wi-Fi for use at Carlson Center. This project will improve Wi-Fi reach throughout the facility.

See the new outline of the rink and the concrete pour filling in where the old rink once extended? This shows the difference in width of the rink from Olympic to NHL.❄

The big silver fans are our new cooling system, this means when temperatures drop to a certain degree outside, we use these to bring in cold air from outside to chill the rink. This will help save on electricity costs to run the rink in the winter!

Ice Rink Removal

Our current ice rink has served us well since the Carlson Center opened on June 13th, 1990. It is time to say farewell! Big thank you to our staff for helping make this transition happen. A new rink system and lower bleachers are being installed this summer. We can't wait to have everyone back next fall for a new and improved experience.

Family Movie and Game Night

TONIGHT! Doors open at 6pm.🎬 The movie starts at 6:30pm. Doors close 15 minutes after the movie ends. The entry fee is $12 per family, up to 5 people. Additional family is $5 at the door. Arcade and the movie are covered in the entry fee, concessions are sold separately by Riverside Eats and Drinks.

The Playzone

Its cold out in the winter months! The Playzone is a cozy warm area to let the kids run around and play on those chilly days. $5- Drop in anytime we are open. The Playzone is meant for children 0-8 years old.
