Our annual Pear Tree Estate Tasting & Styled Shoot was today!

We left home in the dark at 6 am and drove through a snow storm with our loads of fresh flowers and were so very thankful to make it safely.

It's always a joy to decorate Pear Tree and we loved how everything turned out. We can't wait to see the professional photos by the talented Rebekah Albaugh!

Pear Tree outdid themselves with the lovely new pattern draping and serpentine style tables.

Thank you Kate (Apricity Ink) for the lovely hand written stationary and signage!

Thank you to my dear friend Julie for coming and helping me even though she had an unexpected very short night!

Happy 90th birthday to Lorraine P***n! Guests took a break from Christmas decor and walked in out of the cold to a bright springlike setting.

Lorraine loves pastel flowers and baby breath and this was totally her.

Angie and Anthony were married September 14, 2024 on the rooftop of Lacuna Lofts. The Chicago skyline creates a beautiful background. It was our first time to deliver to this Chicago wedding venue. We were charmed by the warm ambiance and stunning Chicago skyline views. Congratulations to Elaina and Grant who were married today at The Venue CU! It was our privilege to create the wedding florals for this sweet couple.

Elaina wanted white flowers with just a touch of light blue and lots of baby's breath which added a magical touch when massed on the arch and the rectangle tables.

The round tables had white footed bowls of flowers. We can't wait to get the professional photos back!

Congratulations to Hannah and Steven!

Two weddings in a row, we decorated and raised our large 13 ft floral ring. So grateful for my family's help (Todd and Betsy) and of course my wonderful Wayne!

Everyone fell in love with how the floral ring showcased the skylight at the venue. This is installation is labor intensive and the Chicago venues seem to have a narrow set up window.

No matter how many years I have done this, I still have bad dreams about set up failures, and Friday night dream was really a nightmare, I woke up at 5 am and wondered what the day would hold. Of course I prayed for the couple to be blessed as I always do, and kept asking God to calm my mind from the nightmare and bless our efforts and provide as we traveled to a new venue in Chicago where we had limited time to set up.

Even though we had allowed an extra 45 minutes for traffic, that extra time was quickly eaten up by a very long and slow freight train at Odell to get on I-55, then right south of I-80, there was an accident that completely blocked the northbound lanes where we sat for 1 hour!! Saturday morning traffic in Chicago was the heaviest we have experienced in all the times we have travelled to set up Chicago weddings.

The staff at Chicago Winery was super to work with but they needed to get the chairs set up and we had a late start with the floral ring so it was pretty stressful (was my nightmare coming true?!)

It helped that the wedding party was late arriving for rehearsal as there was a Palestinian protest which slowed their transit time!

Todd and Betsy left after set up and the passenger window on one of our delivery vans refused to go up so they had to drive all the way home with a broken window.

Then when we went back at 11:30 pm to clean up, a car was illegally parked blocking the entry to our reserved parking lot and finally back at the hotel after clean up and by this time 1 am, our reserved parking pass refused to open the gate to the parking garage, so we ended up paying for valet parking even though we had already paid for the parking garage.

All in all, we were very thankful everything worked out!!

Congratulations to Angie and Anthony who were married on the rooftop at Lacuna Lofts.

What an adventure for us country bumpkins - horrible traffic because of Chicago's Mexican Independence Day celebrations as we wove our way to the Westin River North to drop off personals, Lucana Lofts to set up, Hampton McCormick to check into hotel, back to Lacuna for the strike/cleanup at midnight where it took 30 minutes to go 1.5 miles, them back to hotel dealing with multiple roadblocks for traffic control!!

God answered our prayers and was with us. Thank you to Tory and Wendy who brought up a second van load of flowers and helped with set-up.

I wanted to share these beautiful photos by Haley A Photography! I made a reel on Instagram but when I post to Facebook, it removes the music.

I created this reel for IG and wanted to share it here on FB for my fans. IG removed the audio when I downloaded the reel so it is silent but I am demonstrating how I create a spiral hand-tied bouquet! Our studio looks like spring with so many beautiful colors of flowers filling every space for an awesome wedding coming up this weekend! Thank you again to everyone who kept me in their prayers while I was sick. It meant so much! God does hear our prayers!!

Thank you for praying for us! The flowers came in perfect and we finished 27 centerpieces today plus two larger bouquets for the entry table. I am feeling better each day...so thankful to be on the mend!!

What a year it's been again! Thanks to all of our Facebook fans for following along on our journey! We will finish out our year with one more wedding next weekend in Chicago! The forecast is looking much better for traveling with flowers next Friday with a high predicted of 50 degrees - thank goodness! Pear Tree Estate

I got to cross another thing off of my bucket list today! Our grandson Kenny is here with us for a few days and he accompanied me on a parasail adventure! I highly recommend!!
