Working alongside their internal team plus lighting techs, models, and our crew was a full-on collaborative effort that paid off in a big way. From sunrise setups to syncing perfectly timed shots onboard, this shoot challenged us in all the best ways.

This Facebook memory popped up last week and reminded me just how much I love doing shoots like this one.

This was for Precision Smile Dentistry in Washington, D.C.—a half-day production just after they opened their new office. Dental and medical shoots are one of my corporate jammy jams (yes, that's a technical term), and this one had all the elements I enjoy:

✔️ cool cameras
✔️ multiple lighting setups
✔️ a collaborative team
✔️ real patients
✔️ a creative brief that let me do more than just “point and shoot”

We did everything from talking-head interviews to overhead procedural shots—all while keeping the environment relaxed and professional so the client could trust that both the image and the experience would reflect their brand.

That's honestly our goal; helping medical and corporate teams look as good as they are, whether it’s for recruitment, social content, or full brand videos.

I’ll share the final video in my next post—but in the meantime, here’s a behind-the-scenes look at the process.

Sometimes a company asks, “Can we get all the RAW images from the headshot session?”

It’s a fair question—and the short answer is: yes, if that’s what you need.

But here’s what we explain:

RAW files are unprocessed and often include things like visible lighting gear or wrinkled backdrops. Most people can’t even open them without pro software. So while they’re available, most teams are better served by either color-corrected files (great for things like thumbnails or internal use) or fully retouched final images.

In short: it’s not a matter of gatekeeping. It’s about choosing the right level of finish based on how you’ll use the photos.
