We at Fairfax Floral & Design are kicking off our Black History Month by celebrating Black legends who make our work possible! Starting off with Dr. Marie Clark Taylor!

She is the first Black woman to earn a PhD in Botany from Fordham University. She was heavily involved in the construction of the Howard University botanical greenhouse laboratory and was also the head of the department for sometime. Dr. Taylor was a teacher and trailblazer and we honor her today!
