A spooky good time was had at this rehearsal dinner designed as a nod to one of the couple’s favorite holidays.

in Downtown Leesburg could not have provided a better backdrop for the dinner! The intimate feel of the Log Cabin Room created a cozy space perfect for approximately 25 guests.

And that cake from ?! (Gotta keep swiping!) Well, it was a no brainer 😂 (pun absolutely intended, the detail of the skull was a work of art! 🤌🏼)

This week has come and gone faster than a pair of newlyweds driving off into the sunset!

How did it become Friday so quickly?! 😅

Today we've been setting up lots of venue site visits for the coming weeks + working on details for our June weddings!

This weekend we'll be rehearsing for our Monday wedding next week and so far so good on the weather holding strong!

We love a good weekday wedding. Not only are venue rental rates usually better during the week, but there's less competition over securing additional vendors. And the people who mean the world to you and who love you the most will be at your wedding no matter what day of the week it is! Trust us on this -- if that dream venue of yours is just out of reach on a Saturday, consider a weekday wedding date!

Two weeks with our girl! 🤍Baby Emma made her entrance shortly after midnight on February 17th. Her birth didn't go as we had planned, and instead became an emergency situation to get her out as quickly as possible , but we are so grateful to have her here with us alive and healthy!

Without God's continued guidance and mercy, we could have easily lost her. Thankful for the amazing doctors, midwives, nurses and all the other hospital staff who played a role in helping us deliver her safely!

But no one 🙅🏽‍♀️ wants people who are rowdy, disrespectful or don't follow the dress code at their wedding. So don't be that guy (or gal)! What's that one song that's getting you on the dance floor, guaranteed, every time?! 🎶
During a call with a new couple last night we talked about reception entertainment and what that ideally looked like for them. They love a variety of different genres and the Bride's mom also shared that she'd like to hear some classic throwback hits that her generation would love as well.

Many couples get a little nervous or anxious about wanting their guests to stay engaged and on the dance floor, and finding the right vendor who can deliver an experience that will appeal to all ages.

But with a little guidance from you in terms of music tastes and preferences, professional and experienced entertainment vendors will know how to read the room to keep everyone excited and into the music all night long.

Story Time! ⬇️

These golden, sun-drenched photos were the PERFECT backdrop to K & J's wedding ceremony. But if we're being honest, we never intended for these photos to turn out this way 😬

So let's get real for a moment to break down the scenario of how they came to be!

There was a hiccup in the shuttle transportation that delayed our ceremony start time by quite a bit. With the help of the DJ and caterer, we kept guests who had already arrived as happy as possible as we stalled waiting for the shuttles.

We chatted with the photo and video team about how the delay would impact time for photos during cocktail hour and came up with a new plan that would keep the reception starting on time because we knew one of the couple's priorities for the day was getting ample dancing time in and we didn't want to take away from that.

Most importantly, we shared just enough info to keep our couple informed while still helping them to be calm.

Once the shuttles finally arrived, the sun was beginning to set, which resulted in these amazing photos. We made lemonade out of lemons and got the rest of the wedding back on track.

As planners, our job is to seamlessly execute the day, no matter what curve balls get thrown our way. We handle situations you may never know about, thinking quickly on our feet to solve problems and find solutions as if those problems never even existed. And we gladly do it all with grace and a smile.

Let's talk reception design!
We love creating spaces that provide visual interest for your guests. For S & J's tented wedding reception, we chose to mix and match the farm tables the venue already had with round tables as well.

We opted for a few variations between the tables to bring in more colors and style of floral arrangements while keeping some tablescape elements the same throughout to make the space feel cohesive. This resulted in:
✨ Farm tables vs. round tables
✨ Different napkin colors & napkin folds for farm tables vs. rounds
✨ Different centerpieces for farm tables vs. rounds
✨ Different candle holder styles for farm tables vs. rounds
✨ Flatware, glassware, china and chairs that worked for ALL tables

Now here's a throw back! We designed this tablescape in 2018 when my father had just started building our farm tables.This farm table was the very first one he built (and now resides in my dining room!) and was the prototype for all the tables to come.

Our family's love of woodworking and providing a thoughtful and warm gathering place for people to enjoy is what inspired us to build the farm tables we rent today. It was a dream that my dad could build all the tables for my own wedding in 2017, but with an 8-month engagement and a 250 person guest list, he looked at me like I was crazy and said "absolutely not." 🤣🤣

And while I couldn't have these beautifully handcrafted tables for my own wedding day, my persistent pestering won him over and we've since been able to rent farmhouse tables to many couples to elevate their wedding days, and to others to create a special touch for baby showers, family reunions and other events.

We are counting down the days until this family of four becomes FIVE! 🩷

We're exactly a month out from my due date and it's crazy to think that in just a few short weeks I'll be holding our baby girl in my arms. There's lots of preparation going on over here to ensure our team has exactly what they need to keep things running while I'm out on leave.

I'm grateful to have this team of ladies who I know will continue to take care of our couples while I focus on figuring out what our new normal will look like at home.

I'll officially be stepping away for maternity leave starting February 15th, though will still be taking calls with new couples interested in working with us and doing some light work as needed to ensure our couples and team are set and ready to go for our Spring weddings. I'll return after the first week of May in full capacity and at that time will get back to anyone with needs or requests that were not urgent during my leave!

How do you take the same space you've seen over and over and make it your own?

When we help our couples plan and design their weddings, we go through a series of steps to understand who they are, what they love, and how they want their wedding celebration to best reflect that.

Our process is intentional and you'll never have to wonder what's coming next because we'll guide you through every single step, the same way we did with T & R when they wanted to bring the outdoors inside and create a space that was both romantic and a bit edgy, and allowed their guests to feel like they were dancing underneath the DC city lights all night long.

And the results you can expect? Going from burnt-out and indecisive to actually feeling excited about your wedding planning again. You'll show up to your wedding feeling like the design really feels like you. If we only hear your guests say "Oh this is such a beautiful wedding," then we've failed.
