Brides of Yesteryear!
We have a corner in our foyer where we pay homage to our Brides of Yesteryear.
🩷1930’s Bride: The first featured bride in the long, silk gown is none other than Elizabeth (Willson) Soule. She is pictured in her home on Main Street in St.Albans where she grew up. Betty was the last Soule member to have resided in the house and passed away at the age of 92 in 2006. The Soule family owned the property from 1870-2015. Betty was Vermont’s first woman candidate for nomination to the United States Congress. One local described Betty as “one classy lady. A cross between class and country. Dressed to the tea in style that was beyond this area.”
💕1960’s Brides: The next two brides were Betty’s daughters, Linda and Eulie. These gals were pictured in our foyer on our statement staircase. If you look closely, you’ll notice that the wallpaper and stair runner are different from today but it’s the same beautiful light fixture.
🩷The last picture is of a mystery lady. We are not sure who she is and if she was pictured in The Soule House. She likely is wearing her Sunday’s Best but because she is so stunning we thought she deserves to be alongside the Brides of Yesteryear.
