Exciting day 14 of these cute little Dasher the Dolphin ice skating assistants arrived today. Ive been waiting on these for a few months. We’re making progress, slowly but surely. Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

I've had so many calls and messages I wanted to post an update and let everyone know Cider Barn is still coming just not as soon as I had hoped. We had a delay, but its resolved and we are breaking ground!!! Finally! First we are leveling the pad for the ice rink and building the foundation for Cider Barn itself begins. Ive waited (not very patiently) for this day for a long time but its finally here. I've had to make some tough decisions in the last week since I had hoped to be open before Christmas, like selling Christmas trees this year or not. I had planned on selling a small amount of precut trees this season and I still could but I would have to sell from my home and I dont think that is the experience most people are looking for so as much as it saddens me to do so, I have decided to wait until next year. I would like to share that a very nice gentleman in Albion, Les Frankland has a small choose and cut your own farm with some very nice trees and was willing to help me out this year so I would like to return the favor and send you his direction if your looking for a live tree. I do know he has several pine and spruce. So my next tough decision is a big one and I value your input if you would like to give it. I am so thankful for all the support and enthusiasm I've received, and I can't wait to get open and share Cider Barn with you all. My dilemma is do I go ahead and open the ice rink for skating while construction of the barn is still in progress or do I wait until everything is complete and hope it's before the end of March so I dont have to wait til next year. If you know me I'm kind of a detail person and try very hard to make things extra special esp for the kids and as much as I want it to be I am pretty certain my barn will not be complete for several months, not the interior anyway. So that would mean it would just be ice skating, no gift shop, no loft for private parties, no fireplace to warm up by, nowhere to sit and watch skaters, no stable for deer, no place to keep skates or see Santa Claus it would just literally be a skating rink depending on construction progress. I have put together party packages and field trip packages that I think will be really fun but they require use of the barn and stable. I really want every visit to be special, some of that is possible this year but not all since we're just now able to start. At the same time I hate to let everyone down that was looking forward to skating this year. If you were the winner of tickets to one of the holiday skates your tickets will be valid until your able to use them whether its this year or next. I am working on a website and I will go ahead and publish what I have so far, its kind of like this page, it's a work in progress. Im learning as I go but eventually you will be able to make reservations to ice skate, pay for tickets, and sign liability waivers on line. I will also have crafter and food vendor applications available. I have lists of everyone I have spoken to regarding that and parties up to this point and you wont be forgotten. My greatest wish is to be able to open this winter ,what are your thoughts, open for skating asap or wait until everything is in place? Looking ahead, we will be selling flowers and hanging baskets this spring and opening the gift shop with some extra special items sent directly from E.B. (Easter Bunny)to help fill those Easter Baskets.
