This year’s Crystal Classic featured the presentation of a renamed award - the Jeff Clark Spirit of Show Choir Award. This award was presented by Jeff Clark’s family to Robert C Byrd High School.

Please consider a donation in honor of Jeff’s legacy to the Jeff Clark Memorial Scholarship Fund.

JUDGE'S SPOTLIGHT!

Kevin Rudzinski is a show choir choreographer, judge, and clinician based in Chicago, IL. He has choreographed for numerous show choirs of all ages across the country and loves to celebrate joy and artistry through movement. He has also served as a clinician and judge for various show choir festivals and competitions. With a background in theatre, he has performed in various stage shows at the professional level and loves telling stories through art. Kevin loves to work with dancers of all ages and life experiences and is inspired by others. When not in rehearsal, he loves binge-watching copious amounts of Parks and Recreation and hanging out with his dog, Mia.

JUDGE'S SPOTLIGHT

Ethan Singleton is a 2021 graduate of Fairfield High School. While in attendance he participated in Choraliers and Fortissibros. He served as senior dance captain and has received many awards, such as Best Performer and Best Male Soloist.

Ethan has worked as an assistant choreographer for many show choirs, including Fairfield, Hurricane, and Ross. He wishes everyone luck today!

JUDGE'S SPOTLIGHT

Katie Silcott is proud to be in her 22nd year of teaching vocal music in central Ohio. She is honored to have been selected as a finalist for the 2022 and 2023 Grammy Music Educator Awards. After graduating from Solon High School, she attended the Ohio State University and received her bachelor’s and master’s of Music Education. Mrs. Silcott began her teaching career at Marysville High School and Middle School. She is currently the vocal music director at Shanahan Middle School in Lewis Center.

Mrs. Silcott has presented clinics at four OMEA professional conferences and is looking forward to being the guest conductor for the OMEA District 3 Honor Choir in April. She is currently a member of ACDA, NAFME, OCDA, and was the 2023 Treble Honor Choir Chair for the Ohio Choral Directors Association. Mrs. Silcott enjoys working with talented 6th through 8th grade vocalists every day because she discovered her love for choir when she was in middle school. Her music teaching philosophy is centered on the idea that “music is for everyone!” Mrs. Silcott lives in Powell, OH, with her husband, Jason, and her sons, Jack and Charlie.

JUDGE'S SPOTLIGHT

Randy Sage is a freelance choreographer, show designer, and teacher residing in Los Angeles, CA. Randy graduated from Millikin University in Decatur, IL, studying dance and earning his bachelor’s in Choral Music Education. He has choreographed for many award-winning high school and junior high show choirs around the country for the last 20 years. He is on staff each summer as a clinician at Showchoir Camps of America at both the Illinois and Ohio locations. Randy also serves as the assistant choral director and choreographer at Burbank High School, in Burbank, CA.
