Flying Cloud set the world’s sailing record for passage between New York and San Francisco (89 days and 8 hours). She held the record from 1854 to 1989! Her speedy success was due in large part to her innovative navigator, who employed techniques that until that point had been merely theoretical. That navigator was Eleanor Creesy, wife of the Flying Cloud’s captain! 🌸Girl Power!🌸.

Good afternoon everyone and happy Memorial Day! 🇺🇸 Just a quick heads up: The hours for this weekend are as follow: Saturday from 9-3, Sunday from 9-12 for pickup of pre-orders and cash and carry only, and in observance of the holiday, we will be closed on Monday. Sunday is Easter! Call or stop by to pick up a lovely Easter flower arrangement, green and flowering house plants and in-house made gift baskets. In addition to our regular hours (8:30 -5) on Thursday and Friday, we will be open an hour later on Saturday (9-4) and will have special hours on Sunday (9-1) for pick ups and cash, and carry only. Today we dress in 12 layers of Icelandic wool and Gore-Tex to go to the mailbox, tomorrow we barbecue in hoodies and cargo shorts!
