From the Washington Hotel in Indianapolis, IN, it was 99 years ago, today, on August 24, 1923, when Major Harrleson and seven others organized and created the National Costumers Association. It's been 99 years of growth, challenges, successes and a century of memories.

As we near a century of costuming in August 2023, join us as we remember our history, celebrate our present and look to our tomorrow. We are excited to announce our 100th Anniversary Celebration, scheduled for August 3-6, 2023 at the Kansas City (MO) Marriott Country Club Plaza.

The past, present and future of costuming and our organization will be highlighted, including social events, seminars, networking and a once-in-a-century celebration of the NCA. Mark your calendars NOW and spread the word to your colleagues, former and present members and industry professionals.

There were two people that messaged me about what was left. Here are the pictures.

There are: 13 bolts of $5 material -12 bolts of $3 material — 8 bolts of $10 and various assorted rolls. And lots of trim.

There was a lot more material left than I thought. I am asking $100 for all that is left

I also have a roll of fur and some pieces of sheep fur. I want $50 for it.

Today is our last day open. Beginning November 1st we are closing for good. There is still a lot of costumes left from our rental collection. We are here 10-3

Next week as we clean up and regroup we will be selling fixtures, display cases and our fabric and sewing machines and sergers. Be sure to check our page to see when we are open.

We are sad to close and we will miss our wonderful customers. So many of you have not only been dedicated customers but have became friends. Thank you for all the years of fun, sharing, laughter and kindness. You will be missed !

Because of a lingering illness , the Illusive Skull will not open this weekend. We are hoping to be open next week Thursday Friday and Saturday with extended hours. We will post our expected hours on Tuesday.
