We were lucky to make it to mid November before the weather took a bad turn but it's never too early to start looking forward to our summer concerts.

Our season is "in the can" and although it will be a little while before we announce the shows, here are the dates with some hints 👇

Check out Yemen Coffee Hut , Zhara's - Fairmont , LumberjAxe and Stumptown Ales Fairmont within a hop, skip and a jump from each other on Merchant Street.

Arcade-O-Mania is just down the street on Morgantown Ave across from The JUNK TRUNK.

Head down Morgantown Ave and grab some supplies at Chick's-Bargain Center , antiques from A&L Back in Time or get something to eat 's Pub & Grill , Atts Place or Woody's Restaurant.

Savvy Consignment is just up the road on Market Street.

It may be time to change the clocks back tonight but that just means we're closer to announcing our 2025 lineup. 😁🕜⏳️🤘

Day 9...

Jeers to the District 4 engineering office of the West Virginia Division of Highways for the unprofessional manner in which they handled the closing of the entrance to Palatine Park. They not only did not tell any official in charge at the City of Fairmont or the Marion County Commission that they were installing traffic delineator poles at the park’s entrance, and when pressed why, they gave dubious data to officials about their reasons to install the barriers. There seems to be a pattern here. Last year, when the District 4 office launched what is now being referred to as the Signal Project, they basically told us to go pound sand when we sought information for our readers. It’s not out of the ordinary for humans to want to know why multiple intersections in their city have been dug up and traffic being rerouted without any prior notice.

Cheers to Fairmont Police Chief Steve Shine who debunked the dubious info from District 4 when they stated the numbers of people cutting through Palatine Park to avoid the traffic light had increased. Shine provided data that showed exactly the opposite. And to make the entire kerfuffle even worse, the District 4 engineer demanded that our county administrator drive to Bridgeport to discuss the issue. Logic, if there is such a thing anymore, would dictate that any discussion about the poles would best be done at the entrance to the park where all these thug drivers are zooming through endangering countless lives.

It's been a busy day in the City of Fairmont - City Hall.

And enjoyed the first annual Frank N Stein: A Halloween Beer Festival across the bridge on Monroe Street which was put on by Main Street Fairmont , Marion County Chamber of Commerce and Loving WV.

Here's a status update of what's been going on with the road block situation since Thursday morning.

As stated in this story below, we made District 4 aware of the vaccination clinic today and they ignored our concerns.

Please exercise extreme caution if you plan on coming to this event today. We're still not sure what the traffic pattern is even supposed to be.

We apologize in advance to the Marion County West Virginia Humane Society - No Kill Shelter and SNIP WV for having to deal with this and the difficulties that everyone will experience trying to navigate this event. We'll do our best with traffic control.

Stay tuned, this is far from over.

FAIRMONT — Marion County Administrator Kris Cinalli found out traffic delineator posts had been placed at the Everest Drive entrance to Palatine Park the same way as everyone else.

We were just made aware that the East Park Avenue/New Street entrance to the park has been blocked.

Neither the Marion County Commission or the City of Fairmont - City Hall had any input on this or any prior knowledge that it was even going to occur.

We hope to get some information from the state on why this was done. Hopefully, we can get this removed. Until then, we apologize for any inconvenience.

Please be careful traveling towards the park via East Park Avenue. If you try to take the slight right turn down New Street or onto Everest Drive as people have for the last 50 years or so, you'll now run into the posts they stuck into the ground to block access.

✴Marion County Free Vaccine and Microchip Clinic, Pre Registration is now Open!✴

You can now preregister for our Marion County Clinic! Go to snipwv.org and click on Make an Appointment. You will make sure at Visit Type to select "Vaccinations" then select 10/26/24 as the date. Please note, if there are no appointments showing then the preregistration spaces have been filled. We will have two additional stations to accommodate walk up's as well. They will be seen on a first come, first serve basis.

If this is the first post you are seeing about our clinic here is additional information:
SNIP WV and the Marion County West Virginia Humane Society - No Kill Shelter will be at Palatine Park on Saturday 10/26/24 from 11:00AM-2:30PM administering FREE vaccinations (HCP for Cats, DAPP for Dogs, Rabies for both) and microchips!

You do NOT have to be a resident of Marion County to participate in this clinic, however this time we will be limiting services to 3 animals per household.

All cats MUST be in a secure carrier and dogs MUST be on leash.
If your pet has had vaccinations previously please bring those records. If you do not have records, we have to assume it is their first.
