Planning to have kiddos in tow at your holiday party? A craft station is a great way to give them something to do & have fun with their friends / cousins.

This one is one of my favs & super cost effective.

What you need:
- Paint Swatches cut to different size triangles (most home improvement stores have these for free)

- Card stock

- Foam Glitter stars

- Rhinestone Stickers

- Double sided tape

Other than the paint swatches, you can get everything pretty cheap at the dollar tree!

Here’s what you do:

1. Cut the card stock to your desired card shape (in my opinion, half a sheet of 8x11 card stock folded in half makes the perfect card)

2. Use the double sided tape to attach the trees (your triangles) to the front of the card.

3. Add a star sticker to the top of the desired trees.

4. Embellish with rhinestone stickers to look like stars in the sky.

Bam đŸ’„ you’re done.
Just remember, if you use a darker cardstock, be sure to use a silver sharpie to write inside!

Every party and event literally thrives on having the perfect playlist! Here’s some tips for how to make your playlist the best one yet:

1ïžâƒŁ think of your playlist as a soundtrack that keeps the party moving. Create a beginning, middle, and end that follows the flow of how you’d like your party to move along.

2ïžâƒŁ Ask your guests to add their favorites to a Spotify playlist. Spotify has a collab option that allows your guest to follow a link and add their songs; doing this ensures that everyone gets to hear their favs!

3ïžâƒŁ Don’t overthink it. Ideally, during your party this is going to be mood setting / background music. There will be other things to do, so don’t overthink it. Even if you set up “Mariah Carey radio” on pandora, your guests are there for you and are going to have a great time!

Because of the new followers we get regularly, I like to take the opportunity to reintroduce the face behind Headen to the Party, LLC once in a while.

With that being said:
đŸ‘‹đŸ» Hi, I’m Nina Headen.

First and foremost, I’m a God fearing wife & momma. I have 3 kiddos & our family is . While running my business & raising a family, I also work a day job for a local prosthetic company, because at my core, helping people is what I do best.

I started my business at the end of 2022 after I’d planned 10 events that year. After each event I’d come home and tell my husband how much I’d love doing this for a job. The planning. The set up. The fun, excitement, and enjoyment. Every part of it fed my soul, tapped into my creativity, and brought me an immense amount of joy. And rather than telling me my business idea wouldn’t work, my husband jumped on board and said “let’s do it.”

2 years later, we’re still here, tapping into that creativity & joy. My first goal was always to bring new and exciting events to the area. I grew up in the CHQ and wanted nothing more than to provide experiences for its residents — the way that I remember seeing my parents go out and make memories or taking me and my sister to do fun things.

My next goal was to do what I do best, help people. Planning weddings, parties, and corporate events are stressful. Having a nonprofit fundraiser is overwhelming. In the midst of stress and overwhelm, that’s where I function best. I pull off the event while you get to make the memories.

You’ll get to dance at the gala with your honey.
You’re sitting next to your baby as they turn double digits and watching them open every gift.
You’re staring deep into the eyes of the love of your life while you say I do.
You’re meeting the president of the company & shaking hands.
You are making memories rather than working at your own event.

I love what I do, because I get to help people in a fun, creative, and exciting way. And as long as there is support & love for what I do, I’ll keep showing up for the community that continues to show up for me! đŸ«¶đŸ»

Which moment did you miss that you regret the most?

I’ve heard it said that we only get

1 first birthday
18 summers
10 times (maybe) to play Santa
20 chances to play tooth fairy 🧚
1 first date
1 or 2 proms
& 1 high school graduation.

When you’re going through the motions it seems like a lot, but hindsight while the days go slow
the years go fast.

Your memories are meant to be cherished & enjoyed. You deserve to experience them fully not from the side line or behind the kitchen sink because you couldn’t walk away from the dishes to enjoy the party.

When we’re consulting with brides and corporate offices for parties, one of the expenses we see often is linen purchases. Whether it’s a table cloth, a cloth napkin, or a table runner - I always advise my clients NOT to purchase their linens.

Here’s why:

Linens cost anywhere from $10 - $40 each (or more depending on your style preference)- depending on what you’re looking for & how many you need, you can rack up the cost immensely đŸ„Ž Once your event is over, you need to wash them, dry them, fold them (which probably requires a YouTube video to figure out), and put them in a proper storage container.

Then they sit.
Occasionally you might find someone to sell them to on marketplace, but with all the other folks out there selling the same things, buyers can be hard to come by.
So they keep sitting.

Here’s my recommendation:
For a FRACTION of the cost of your table linens, you can rent them. Most rental companies charge $3-$8 each table cloth. You do no washing. You do no drying. You’re not YouTubing how to fold a circle table linen. And they’re not sitting in your closet or garage taking up valuable space with no where to go.

It’s appealing to buy your linens. Dealing with them after is not. Rent your linens. Save yourself the hassle.
