This is going to be THE event of the summer! We'll have trail races, food trucks, an outdoor concert, family activities and campfires and a campout! It's going to be a blast and you're going to want to be there!

Food Trucks & Trails Festival!

Nature of the North has partnered with Where is that food truck and Quirky Event Planning to bring a new and exciting family friendly outdoor event in Moorhead, Minnesota! We aim to bring a day full of trail running and mountain bike races, family outdoor games, live music, and most importantly… FOOD TRUCKS!

At the end of the day, the event turns into a 21+ campout complete with an outdoor concert with D Mills & the Thrills, camping access, beverages, and of course… CAMPFIRES!

This Friday I am ecstatic to be on Strong Women, Strong Coffee! There have been so many amazing women on that virtual stage and I’m honored to be joining them. What is an event facilitator and why might you need one?

An event facilitator is the person during the event who's running around making sure it runs smoothly, fixing details, and putting out fires all behind the scenes. Having someone to do that work frees up your team to enjoy your own event.

Facilitation services are included in all event planning packages. We also offer day-of event facilitation - you plan your event, then we'll hop in to run it so you don't have to.

One of the first questions you'll hear in a Discovery Session is "What is the purpose of your event?" By knowing why you want to host an event, you can dig into how to accomplish your goal (hint: it may not always be what you think). Your event should be specific to you and your purpose.

The book "The Art of Gathering: How We Meet and Why It Matters" by Priya Parker is largely what we base our beliefs on. It has a wealth of knowledge on how to create meaningful and transformative gatherings.

Why Quirky Event Planning?

Webster defines quirky as “unusual in especially an interesting or appealing way”

You know, stuff that’s cool in a weird way, just a little off. That’s what makes our events memorable and great, the addition of things that catch you off guard, that you aren’t used to.

It was the perfect name! Plus Dani is a little weird, so it's fitting 😉

"What's your why?"

Why did I decide to start Quirky Event Planning? What's my story?

In July I took time to reflect on my life and decide what I wanted to do. I've always wanted to be an entrepreneur, but I never knew what kind of business I wanted to start.

After an ah ha moment, I realized I could take my event planning talents and put it together with my love of local businesses and voila! Quirky was born!

I'm Dani - Founder, Head Weirdo and Chief Pun Officer at Quirky Co. I love all things fun, crazy and (you guessed it!) quirky! And I am beyond excited to work with you to share my crazy ideas.

3 Fun Facts about me:

1) I am an aerial performer and instructor at Zero Gravity Alternative Fitness. I perform and teach on silk hammock, lyra and pole.
2) I'm originally from a smaller town in MN, but moved to Fargo about 10 years ago.
3) I'm a big adrenaline ju**ie! I've rappelled off of Fargo's tallest building, gone to circus camps which included flying trapeze, and have been to many amusement parks! (Ziplining hopefully soon to come!)

I've planned events as small as a couple people, up to helping plan a 2,000+ event and everything in between.
