The 3rd Annual B.O.B. (Big Ole Bash) was without question the HOT DFW ticket on Saturday, June 17th! The threat of severe weather moved the festivities from the Boondocks stage, in doors, to the New Clubhouse at 13893 CR 550. And what a party ensued! Local legend BOB Crider, with a beautiful introduction by his daughter Kim, celebrated his 88th with smooth dance moves and internet sensation Kyle “Tex” HAMBY gave a heart felt testimony on his 50th birthday as well, regarding his faith.
Preliminary music performed by Micah Blalock, Carly Reign, Nick Knirck, Joslin D’Souza, and Gerry Fisher was unbelievably inspirational and moving….and then…LOVE HANDLE BAND brought the extreme heat!!
Grif and Laura Hamlin, Joe Mansir, the Fish! Wow!! Top this off with great food (thank you Heather/Clay and gang) from Mr Jim’s Pizza and the best campers on the planet doing what they do every day…enjoying each other! And there you have the BOB 2023.
The only stain (dark cloud) on the festivities, was the highly controversial match race between Tex and an elderly gentlemen, Allen. After what appeared to be intentional tripping at the start by the younger Tex, it seems that the promise of continued campaign contributions (diamond art) may have influenced Mayor Fuller to favor the inside lane a bit and maybe even ”lean in” slightly at the photo finish. The tapes are under review as we speak! By the way, Bobby Clouse was amazing as well handling sound and lights. A true pro!
Why would you consider not marking your calendar and attending next years BOB!! See y’all in 2024!!!
