A few weeks ago, I was the DJ/MC at the beautiful Broadturn Farm, for a sweet couple.
They kept things simple and true to who they were. Leaving lots of time for connection.
They each had their parents walk them down the aisle, to I Second That Emotion - Smokey Robinson. Recessional: You Can’t Hurry Love - The Supremes.
Yes, Motown and oldies are trending and I’m loving it!
The couple walked in alongside their guests without a big intro, except to personally thank their guests for being there, before enjoying a delicious dinner by .and.co
The soundtrack throughout was heavy on soul, Motown, disco, funk!
I was in heaven!
I’m grateful they had these kind words to share about working with me..
We were lucky enough to have D.j. Jodi as part of our wedding. She was helpful from start to finish, from meeting with us months in advance to talk through sound options for the ceremony and dance floor to checking up on us and our officiant as the day neared to, finally, providing a perfect medley of songs for each aspect of our wedding. She was easy to work with throughout the planning process and checked in with us during the wedding itself as aspects of our reception unfolded. We would highly recommend her for anyone wishing to plan a lovely day of celebration! ~ D+C

When this couple thanked their guests for coming, they mentioned that many of their friends + family had asked why now? You see, for the last 18 years, they had already been a blended family, each already having 2 daughters. They couldn’t answer, except to say it felt like the right time… and it was a helluva time!
From the meaningful ceremony at Mt Battie Tower, to dropping it low on the dance floor, this was a SUPER FUN night, congrats M+D 💜
