Bulky Item Amnesty is today at the Hwy 441 Waste and Recycling Site from 10-2pm. 4 item limit, no charge. We will also have a latex paint station where you can treat your wet paint with sand/shavings for proper disposal. No oil based paints-those can go to the ACC CHaRM.

Tiny pieces of paper, bottle caps, pop tabs, and other little items smaller than a credit card, while technically made of recyclable materials, are too small to make it through the sorting equipment at recycling facilities. It is best to toss these items in the trash instead of the recycling because they'll end up getting swept up and thrown away at the recycling facility anyway.

The Oconee Count Parks and Recreation Department, in conjunction with Major League Baseball, will be hosting Pitch, Hit, & Run on Saturday, April 22nd 10:30am-1:30pm at Bogart Sports Complex. Open to all boys and girls. Winners from each group (7/8, 9/10, 11/12, & 13/14) have the opportunity to progress to a sectional, regional, and national competition. HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎂 A Texas woman, Thelma Tisdell, celebrated her 105th birthday on Saturday with cake, presents, tiaras and family! "She means everything to the community," Margaret Pleasant, one of Thelma's church friends, said. "You can see all of the people and family that came here just shower her with love and blessings. We have had several calls today about a warrant scam. The person is using the names of deputies who actually work at the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office. This is a SCAM! Do not pay this or any other person who calls saying they will not arrest you if you pay them money.

Trust me, if we have a warrant for your arrest we’ll come talk to you in person.
