Why do I need a wedding planner?

✨Knowledge.
Weddings are our careers. We attend worshops, conferences, and classes. We read wedding blogs and books. We know the ends and outs on wedding traditions, trends, and how to run a wedding day. Ultimately, we may even be able to save you money with our knowledge.

✨Time.
Planning a wedding is time-consuming and can be stressful. If you’re already busy with a full-time job, outsourcing your wedding to us makes sense! It’s literally my job to plan weddings and events.

✨Vendors.
We know local vendors! We have spent countless hours researching local vendors, from florists to lighting professionals. I even have recs for local dance instructors to prepare you for your first dance!

✨Wedding Day Coordination.
Carrying around a clipboard at your own wedding won’t allow you to be fully present to make special memories. And your friends and family members shouldn’t have to take on that role either. You want them to enjoy themselves and have a stress free day. Besides, even if they are highly organized, they probably haven’t coordinated a wedding day before. Understanding how to develop a day of timeline and how to make the day flow is a part of our training.

I understand that not everyone can afford to hire a full-planning wedding planner. I always recommend at least hiring a Coordinator, if possible. Our coordination package is called Wedding Management. Contact me to learn more!

Cake tips!

🍰 Who is cutting and plating the cake? Your caterer may cover this or charge a cake cutting fee. You can also hire additional staff for this task. I personally as a planner do not cut cakes!

🍰 Most cakes are priced by cost per guest. Depending on the bakery, you can expect to pay anywhere between $3-$8 per slice.

🍰 Cakes melt in the heat. Keep this in mind for outdoor weddings.

Here are a few ways you can tell if a wedding vendor is LGBTQ+ inclusive and gender affirming:

1. Check to see if they have their pronouns listed on their Instagram and/or in their email signature.

2. Evaluate what language they used. If they’re truly inclusive, they likely won’t use bride/groom language and instead will use “couple” or “nearlyweds”.

3. Check their Instagram bios! Often vendors will include a rainbow, rainbow flag, or “safe space” to signal that they’re inclusive.

4. Browse their Instagram feed. Do they have pictures of LGBTQ+ couples?

5. Hire an LGBTQ+ planner. This is where I come in! As your planner, I know which local vendors are LGBTQ+ accepting and, if I don’t, I’ll ask for you!

There’s so much information out there on weddings. And everyone has opinions on what you should and shouldn’t do at your wedding. My advice? Do what feels right to you.

If a piece of advice or a tradition doesn’t sit right with you, you don’t have to do it for your wedding. If having to recite your own written vows in front of other people makes you want to curl up and die, don’t do it! If you hate cake, don’t have it! If you don’t like wearing dresses, don’t wear one!

This is YOUR wedding day and you should do what brings you joy! 💗✨

I cannot recommend this team of vendors highly enough. I ended up sick with the flu the week of this shoot and my team (along with these INCREDIBLE vendors) brought it all together without me. I’m in awe of these amazing women and their talents.
