Can you book a last minute senior session? Like an omg, I majorly procrastinated and now I need pics taken within the next two weeks last minute? Honestly, sometimes yes.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But besides possibly having no availability, let me walk you through my week last week to show you just why you want to book early:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Monday: Sent emails to seniors/parents with mid-June sessions that included a helpful session guide. Also scheduled a planning call with each of them.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Wednesday: Call day! I talked with my sweet senior + mom about hair + makeup appt (which was previously booked by me), timeline, and outfits. She chose to have an outfit styled by me, so we discussed her specific style so I could have a clear idea of what to shop for. After the call, I began compiling outfit options for her to choose between.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Thursday: Continued corresponding with her to narrow down outfit options until we found the perfect one!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Friday: Another call day with a stunning 25 senior + mama! This senior also has hair + makeup and styling included in her session, so we went through the same planning process as my previous call. Afterward, I started compiling outfit options for her.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Saturday: Ordered senior number 1’s outfit. Continued narrowing down options with senior number 2!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sunday: Narrowed down outfit options until we found the right fit and got it ordered.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Still to-do: Location scout for places that fit their individual visions for their session. 🥰

All of this to say that if you want the best of the best experience, planning takes time! Last minute sessions without the fun extras like hair and makeup and styling are still so fun, but if you want to have your cake and eat it, too, book at least 2 months ahead of time.

The stunning Kylie doing of my very fav prompts because it creates flattering movement 10 times out of 10! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When you shoot with me, you’ll get a combo of prompts & poses. What do I mean by this and why does it matter? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Prompts are directions given for movement. Swing your hips, twirl, flip your hair, etc. It’s great for getting shots that look more fun and candid! No two people ever do the same prompt exactly alike, so they’re truly unique to you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Poses are positions where you’re (mostly) still. Since movement isn’t involved as much, there’s much more control over the outcome. We can tweak the poses all the way from how your hair sits, to the direction you’re angled, and even down to how your fingers are positioned.
