What we're loving right now 💜
There are always a few flowers that stand out throughout the growing season, and this year has been no different. Here are some flowers we've really been loving this season.
🩷 Snapdragons 🩷
One of the biggest workhorses in the garden, snapdragons are a crop we will always grow. These flowers are cut and come again, constantly giving us blooms. They come in a rainbow of different colors and are the perfect addition to a bouquet.
🧡 Zinnias 🧡
Another crop that is cut and come again is Zinnias, which are at the top of the list of favorites here on the farm. These flowers are easy, low maintenance, and fast growing. They are perfect for beginners and add a bright pop to the garden landscape and bouquets.
💜 Ageratum 💜
This was our first year growing Ageratum, and it certainly won't be our last! We have been obsessed with the color of these flowers. The bright, almost neon pop of purple gives excellent contrast in an arrangement. Another cut and come again bloom that we are loving!

🌱 Easy Winter Seed Sowing! 🌱
Winter won't stop us from getting our hands dirty! These DIY milk jug planters are perfect for jumpstarting your garden, even in the chilly weather. Acting as mini greenhouses, they create the ideal conditions for cool-season seeds to thrive.
Here's what you'll need:
- Clean milk jug
- Sharpie
- Shears
- Cold-season seeds (I'm using spinach)
- Seed starting mix
- Duct tape
🌿 First, poke drainage holes in the bottom of your milk jug. Then, carefully cut around the jug, leaving about a 2-inch hinge.
🌿 Next, fill the bottom with soil, leaving space at the opening.
🌿 Add your cool-season seeds – perfect for leafy greens like spinach and lettuce!
🌿 Close the milk jug and seal it with duct tape to keep the lid secure.
🌿 Label your planter and place it in your garden. Once the weather warms up a bit, get ready for your seeds to sprout!

A cold and rainy Monday ☔
After quite the rain storm last night, I dream of spring showers today. Walking around the garden in the rain is one of my favorite activities. Seeing all the seedlings popping their heads up to soak up all the rain brings me so much joy. Before we know it, it will be time to start all those little seedlings and prepare for spring, and I am so excited about it!
