Our spring market will be held on Saturday June 1st from 10 am-3pm. Admission is $5 per person, ages 13 & up.
5731 Cedar Lake Road Howell, MI
Swag bags for the first 50 adults in line 🥳
We’re preparing for The Speckled Hen Market on Saturday and will be collecting donations for Michigan Duck Rescue and Sanctuary while we’re there! I’ll have a print out with their Venmo information and will take cash donations/change round up donations to give to them at the end of the day.🦆
They hold a special place in our heart over here because once upon a time, they helped with one of our ducks too! Our flock has changed over the years and luckily aren’t so adventurous anymore, but when we didn’t know what to do they were happy to jump in and lend a hand!
If anyone was around a few years ago (before MFC) and remembers the story about the two goslings we had for a few days, they helped with them too, not once hesitating to take them late at night when they were rejected by an attempt to get them to bond with another goose family, and again were rejected by our ducks.
Can’t wait to see you all on Saturday! We’ll have some annual starts and some rooted dahlia cuttings to grow yourself, as well as candles, our 2024 collection of embroidered sweatshirts, and lots of other items!
Can’t wait to see you all there!🤍
🎉

Felt it was long overdue for a quick intro and a long ramble because we have a lot of new followers and it’s been a while… so here goes.😊
Hi, I’m Meghan, owner of Mae Flower Co.! 👋
Mae Flower Co. was the culmination of a lifelong commitment to personal growth, pursuing passions, and getting outside with our little family - and my 10+ years of pinning cut flower gardens on Pinterest.😆
My husband, Billy, is the built-in tree trimmer, dirt hauler, and second set of hands and none of this would exist without his help.🤍
Despite my love for growing + designing flowers, I am a reformed “don’t waste your money on flowers for me because they just die” live plant lover. We all have our faults… this was mine and I have since (clearly) changed my mind.🤭 And for good reason!
Fav movie currently: The Holiday
Best snack: Dates + sunbutter + mini choc chips
Personal vice: Starting too many projects at once because the creative juices start flowing and it’s pure magic
Fav book genre: Most personal development; currently re-reading (on Audible because ) ‘Be’ by Jessica Zweig… I am a closet marketing-obsessed nerd with a business undergraduate degree.
Best memory: Besides having the kids and our wedding day? Blink 182 concert x 2
Fav flower: Unpopular opinion… Gladiolus. Long story short, my great grandma’s name is Glady and they remind me of chatting with her and my grandma about gardening and flowers, and taking a countless number of trips with my grandpa to Bordine’s nursery growing up.
We’re first generation flower farmers, realizing that on one side (Billy’s) there were several generations of farmers before him, which explains lots of miscellaneous tips and tricks he heard over the years. On the other (Meghan’s) there were generations of loving flowers every spring (swipe for little me🤭), coupled with a shared love of a certain flower that’s entirely impractical 80% of the time.
We both have jobs outside of our farm that can at times can be stuffy and serious… so we like to keep things light over here!
Thanks so much for being here 🤍
Something we haven’t done a great job of: asking for reviews!
🎉 If we’ve worked with you in the past, do you mind leaving us a quick review? It would mean the world to us!
THANK YOU!😊
I was listening to a podcast this morning and it refreshed my perspective around my business, and was kind of a full circle moment for me.
I’ve been a long time listener of Tim Ferriss Show and reader of the blog & email updates by and he always has great little business or mindset nuggets.
Today’s: “You can create a business that is a monster of your own making - a jail of your own making…”
Honestly, that was me last year at the end of the season. I was so frustrated, so burned out, and so OVER IT.
I needed to be reminded of WHY I was doing this in the first place… so, I went back through and reviewed my business plan. I reviewed some texts and emails and excited/thankful (and even tearful) messages. I was able to share my creations with others - to see their vision and make it reality.
Honestly, this is the best part of working with flowers. There’s obviously time flexibility, a lifestyle change opportunity, etc., but for an Enneagram Type 2, helping others is what it’s all about.
It takes a lot of grit - the mentality that you can’t quit when it gets hard, and always remembering why it’ll get better - to run a small business. But it is SO worth it.
I’m curious - have you taken the Enneagram test? And if so, what are you?!

A quick re-introduction for the new year because we are now booking weddings and events for 2024 and beyond! 🍾
Mae Flower Co. is a local flower farm (Hartland/Fenton area) that grows local, seasonally grown flowers (grown with chemical/spray/pesticide free methods when possible), and creates custom arrangements with both locally grown and imported flowers for weddings, showers, corporate events, etc.
A flower bar is also available upon request for events where your guests can create a bouquet on their own to take home, or pre-wrapped bouquets can be provided based as party favors or for sale via our various flower bar set-ups (think French market full of fresh floral!)
We specialize in bespoke/garden style arrangements that are loose, elegant, and have a natural and non-uniform element to them. We are passionate about this style because it can stretch any floral budget to look glamorous and impactful, and allows us to help our bride’s and customer’s wildest ideas come to life while utilizing as many locally grown blooms as possible.
Please feel free to reach out via DM or email at [email protected] for inquiries - we’d love to chat to see if we’d be a good fit for your next event or your big day!
Follow us on Facebook (Mae Flower Co.) or Instagram (.co) for updates, farm stand sales, and holiday happenings!
**Please share and tag your friends who are in the market for custom floral - it’s the easiest (and least expensive!) way to support our local small business. 🥰
One fact about .co that not everyone knows? We’re not just a flower farm… we also LOVE custom orders!
If you need some floral assistance for your next event, we’re happy to help.☀️
This week, we had the pleasure of creating a few elegant holiday themed arrangements… included were two 3’ table swags and an 8” compote arrangement. We were able to find all of the pieces - and even the custom compote - to deliver class and style to our client.
Feeling extra thankful for referrals and creative control today! 🥰
Planted lots of tulips last weekend and am knocking out the rest while the weather is still warm!🌷
👉🏻 SWIPE for process, and to see the aftermath of me debating the theory that talking to your plants helps them grow better… and wondering if all of my cursing stunted their viability at all (pic 3)… 😆
Wishing you and yours a very happy Thanksgiving!🦃🍁
So cool! Reminds me of Kitsugi - the Japanese art of reassembling broken pottery with gold to symbolize the necessity of the dark times, or “cracks” in life.🌻
This was an experiment by a kindergarten class. They dropped seeds in the cracks of the sidewalk to see what would happen.
If you haven’t seen our stories, we are asking for your help in kicking our yearly holiday giving up a notch!
A little backstory… every year, we typically give back in several ways as a family around the holidays. However, every year that we’ve done something, it’s apparent that there is a need much greater than what we are doing. While we’ve been able to positively impact a family or two each season, we’ve decided to team up with Ennis Center for Children this year instead.
After hearing a presentation at Empowered Moms Live with (where Ennis was a recipient of donations) it was mentioned that so many of the children in foster care not only go without their wants met, but their NEEDS as well. It hit me like a ton of bricks as I sat there just a few minutes prior talking to some other Moms about Christmas, immediately almost feeling ashamed about how blessed we are to be chatting about our kids’ Santa letters and wishes, when the kids that are staying at Ennis and their foster homes don’t even have undergarments that fit properly.
That being said, I’ve touched base with Ennis and we are helping two kiddos from Livingston County, but are absolutely interested in adding more if there is enough support from our flower community! We will also be periodically doing a few drives in 2024 for various smaller necessities and personal hygiene items.
I know this year has been hard on so many people, but I am thankful for this community and the opportunity to be a bridge to bring anyone who is able to help and the children in need together to support them through this holiday season!
*Please note that ANY size donation is helpful - even down to just a single toothbrush! These kiddos often don’t have anything but the clothes on their backs when they are taken into foster care, and would be extremely happy just having simple things to call their own.
More details to come after we receive the first two wish lists, but if you’re interested in contributing please send me a DM or comment below with your email address and I’ll send out an email to everyone who’s contributing with updates, needs, and timelines.
Please reach out with any questions!🤍
If you’re planning a wedding or event for 2024, don’t forget to check out The Backyard Bar Mi! Their setup is beautiful - and would pair perfectly with one of our floral bar setups and/or custom floral arrangements… 😉💐🥂

Does anyone else just want to slow down and create during this dark and chilly season? I’ve been thinking a lot about rest and how everything comes in seasons… and I’m just here to say that without the cold, these blooms wouldn’t feel so welcomed and exciting in the spring; without the frost, the beneficial insects wouldn’t have a break; without the rest and reset, I wouldn’t be able to show up as the best version of myself next season. So, how can you rest and reset over the holiday season? Create! Use your hands and work that prefrontal cortex and make something; it spikes dopamine in a healthy way, and allows you to just “switch off” for a few, slow moments. 🤍 #flowers #entrepreneur #flowerfarmer #womanownedbusiness
Find out how we made this 😂 …and more! We’ll have dates finalized this week and will be presenting both a full fall and winter workshop schedule over the coming weeks. We’d love to know… what would you like to learn to make with flowers?! Tell us below! 👇🏻

A quick weekend update from last night... Now, if we could just get a break from the rain we could get some more beds finished!😬🤞☀️
There are a lot of things that feel extra special when you’re starting a flower farm... all the anticipation, seeing the first few flats of annuals germinate and grow... but nothing gets the excitement going quite like free mulch!🤪 It’s the little things!#shoplocal #flowerfarmher #flowerfarm #flowers #selfcare #loveyou #locallygrownflowers
