Happy Love Week!🤍

This is honestly my favorite IG trend of all time, and I’ve been anxious about doing my own version of it because it feels raw and vulnerable.

But then I remembered a few things…

Many of you have shared some of your most raw, emotional, and vulnerable moments with me; you’ve trusted me with your weddings, funerals, and everything in between. And for that I am so, so grateful.🥲

It also got me thinking about a mini yoga retreat I did a few years ago… in it, we did a meditation where we were to visualize ourselves at different ages, through different phases and times of our lives.

And we were to remember what each version of ourselves needed at each phase, offering whatever it was to the “little me”.

I remember wrapping up that meditation and being moved to tears, and opening my misty eyes to complete the journaling piece of the activity. I looked up and saw over 30 other women experiencing the same thing.

A few people shared what they envisioned and what their “younger selves” needed. Collectively, we all realized it was the same thing for each woman in the room: love, safety, and assurance.

It sounds cheesey, but it was then that I promised myself that I would do my very best (even when it’s scary - especially when it’s scary!) to set an example that my kids could look up to, and to offer them as much love, safety, and assurance as possible while I can.

Some days are hard, and none of us are perfect - God, are we all flawed. But I presume that if we try our damndest, our kids will know and they will feel it, knowing they’ll make their younger selves proud too.

🌸🌸🌸

Here’s to making our younger selves proud, and for being creative and unique in only the best of ways. And to using these gifts to pave a path for the little eyes who are watching our every move.

“What’s the best that could happen?”

I keep reminding myself of this because every day of running your own business comes with ups and downs.

But, what’s the absolute best that could happen?

Keep visualizing it and picturing it, and soon enough it will be. ✨

Invest in yourself.
Surround yourself with people who believe in you.
Trust the vision.
Take care of YOU.

Flowers always symbolize so much more to me than just… flowers.

Funny story actually that I haven’t shared in a while… I used to HATE flowers. And I don’t mean like a little - I mean I despised getting them as gifts and thought they symbolized death and wastefulness. True story - ask my husband!

Once I started growing them though, and sharing them with others at the highest of high moments to the lowest of lows - from weddings, engagements, showers, graduations and more, to funerals and celebrations of life - I realized I was SO wrong.

They symbolize the strength and many seasons it took to just exist; their likeness to humans. The ups, the downs; the sun and the rain.

We’re releasing a new type of subscription this year and I hope it is (pardon my French) as kick ass to you as I think it is! Time to make caring for YOU easy again. Time to make slowing down and breathing an easy choice.

And for those who have a hard time doing so? (Admittedly, me 🙋🏻‍♀️) It’s the perfect gift to say, “Hey... come back home to you. I’m here if you need me. Love you!”

As we’ve worked through some fun Valentine’s partnerships, I’ve decided to just go for the things I’ve been wanting to do. So here’s to saying “HELL YES” to all of the wellness and self love. And “GTFO” to all the rest. ✌️

“A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor.” 🌊

Prepping for this season has been a whirlwind so far and it’s only the 3rd of February! We’ve got so many things to get ready and what seems like a quickly closing window to get them all done… but isn’t that true for everything?

The most rewarding part of stewarding the land is having a constant reminder to take a breath and slow down.

Just over a month ago, I chose to step away from the office I was working in and to be honest it hasn’t been the easiest transition. Remembering to set boundaries around my newfound “free time” has been a challenge; I completely forgot how often people assume that you don’t have a schedule (or much to do at all 😬) when you work for yourself! But, slowly getting used to it, and refreshing myself on what those conversations are like again. As a “recovering people pleaser,” it isn’t easy but it is so worth it! 🫶

Up next for flower prep, we’ll be…
- starting lisianthus, eucalyptus, anemones, ranunculus (new for me this year!), and a ton of others
- splitting dahlia tubers and potting them up for cuttings (one of my absolute favorite tasks this time of year!)
- starting tubers early indoors
- prepping our growing veg garden’s plants
- prepping all beds as soon as this snow melts
- writing & recording all things floral 😉

I’m curious… 🤔

What are your favorite organization tips and tricks for keeping schedules straight and homes organized while working?

I’ve worked at this for a long time and every chapter of life seems to add another complexity, so I’d love to start a thread for those who have good tips - and for those of us who could use them to read, too!

Sometimes we get so hung up on chasing the views, we forget to cherish the journey through and up the mountain. 🧗🏻‍♀️

Getting to February seemed like a lifetime to wait before the holidays, and now that it’s here I find myself both longing for and detesting the turn of the seasons that’s lurking around the corner. In a couple of weeks, my nighttime chores will double - watering trays and trays of seeds, juggling several new trays started weekly until June (though it’s way easier with my !), checking humidity levels, preventing mold growth, and taking more dahlia cuttings than I really need (this has become an annual tradition!🤪)

But what’s the juice worth without the squeeze?

Looking at a field full of florals, teaching private workshops, and watching photographers fall in love with the space I dreamt up… will be so worth every ounce of effort.

Here’s to not getting so hung up on the goal that we forget to enjoy the climb!🥂

“2025… The one where we finally had a greenhouse.” 😉

A little update for my flower lovers (AND photographers 🤭)… We added my dream greenhouse space to our flower field this past fall and even though only two of my favorite little ladies are pictured here, they all gave it a thumbs up when they saw it! They’re already planning cousin tea parties and even B’s birthday party… 🎂

Pretty soon it’ll look like the photo on the right (though I did NOT plant over 6k tulips this year… 😬) and we’ll be ready to share it with you.

A big “thank you” to my favorite unpaid flower farmhand for all of his hard work - especially when it came to the moments I was so frustrated with putting it together that I wanted to scrap the whole thing.😅

Stay tuned for updates and invite-only greenhouse days. If you want to be “in the know,” join us over at the MFC Insiders - our digital newsletter with flower happenings, early bird tickets, discounts, and Insider-only events. Join on our website below!👇

INNOVATE | verb., make changes in something established, especially by introducing new methods, ideas, or products.

All of 2024 has been innovation for us at .co 🌸

We’ve been ebbing and flowing with what works for our family and our farm, and I’ve loved every second of it. It’s so different from our original business plan, but is so much better.

We’re still no spray and chemical free because that’s a value I hold deeply, but I’ve learned that importing florals for events has its place too… like for the midsummer wedding that requests ranunculus while all the rest of ours locally are shriveled up and protesting growth!

As of late, I’ve been pouring heavily into myself and taking a leap and chance professionally… and honestly don’t know if I’d be as confident about it on a personal level as I do without the community we’ve created over at .co 🤝

So, what does 2025 have in store for us?

Well… we bought a greenhouse. More to come with that because it is the most beautiful, relaxing space I have ever dreamt up. With that, we’ve been reminded of how valuable time is… because we haven’t had any to spend putting the glass windows in!🤪

2025 looks a lot like collaborating with others - and with my other business. It looks like building resources, educating, and spreading joy. It looks like a big focus on mental health initiatives, weddings, private events, and helping others heal.

Without any other specifics aside from the greenhouse being “officially” out in the ether, I will say this… it’s going to be a year of growth and blooming (pun intended) into exactly what I’ve been envisioning for years… but including many things I wouldn’t have ever dreamt up until this past season. 💭

I stand firmly rooted in my belief that God has big plans for this space and I’m just along for the ride.

So, here’s to another year of surprising the hell out of myself, working with some amazing clients, and making beautiful stuff. Because that’s what it’s all about to me - standing in awe of the gifts you’ve been given, trusting the greater plan, and sharing it all with others.🤍

And check out .co on the podcast this week!☺️

Leave with a fun arrangement to display at home, and a bag of coffee beans hand-roasted in Michigan by ☕️
