Nominations are now being accepted for Outstanding Polk County Senior Citizen to be awarded at the Polk County Fair.

The Polk County Fair is right around the corner and we need your help! Tri-Valley is excited to participate in the Senior Day at the Polk County Fair on Friday, July 12, 2024. Part of that event is awarding a worthy Senior Citizen with the “Outstanding Senior Citizen Award”. We need you to help us find a senior citizen that goes above and beyond for their community within Polk County. Know a Polk County family who has owned their farm for 100+ years? The Minnesota State Fair & Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) are accepting applications until March 4, 2024 for the 2024 Century Farms Program. We will recognize Polk County families at the fair- July 10-14, 2024.

The Minnesota State Fair and the Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation invite Minnesota families who have owned their farms for 100 years or more to apply for the 2024 Century Farm Program.

Polk County fair participated in the Communication Contest at the MFCF fair convention last weekend. We submitted 8 pictures from photos you shared on our page and were pleased to have 3 of them picked as winners. Our fair friends capture great images at fair time. Polk County Fair wants to thank Valley Plains Equipment -Crookston for their generous donation for the silent auction at the MFCF Convention. Proceeds from this auction help defray expenses for the convention.

Several fairboard members will be attending the Minnesota Federation of County Fairs convention in Bloomington, MN this weekend. There will be workshops, sharing tables, panel discussions, and a trade show where members will network and share ideas with fairs from all over the state. Plans are quickly coming together for the fair on July 10-14, 2024.

Congratulations to the Polk County Fair talent contest winners that performed at the MN State Fair. Pre-teen Luca Merkins and Teen entry Olivia Anderson and Lauren MacDonald showcased their talent on the Baldwin Stage. Olivia and Lauren placed 2nd on the night they competed. You made Polk County proud.

The 2023 4-H Livestock Encampment is now in the books but the memories will last a lifetime.

The 4-H'ers did an amazing job at representing Polk County 4-H. A huge thank you to our chaperones (Kevin & Hannah), parents and other 4-H'er members for coming and helping during the livestock encampment.
