VMV was established as a vineyard in the spring of 1998 with the planting of two grape varietals (Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc) totaling 3325 vines. The operation has since grown to include an additional three grape varietals (Merlot, Traminette, and Petit Verdot) bringing the vine total to 5625 over a 9.5 acre plot used to produce 12 amazing wines!

We have cozy indoor seating available in the tasting room. If you’d like to visit the vineyard but want to stay out of the cold, come enjoy our tasting room! It has a beautiful view overlooking the blue ridge mountains.

Midnight Blue will be performing on Saturday for our Annual Yuletide Market from 12:00-6:00pm!🎶🌙

will be serving a wide variety of delicious greek foods.
Brats and More are providing quality handhelds - hot dogs, hamburgers & grilled chicken sandwiches.
A & A Kettle Corn Company will have hand cooked gourmet kettle corn to snack on throughout the event.

Our Story

Virginia Mountain Vineyards was established as a vineyard in the spring of 1998 with the planting of two grape varietals (Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc) totaling 3,325 vines. The operation grew to include an additional three grape varietals (Merlot, Traminette, and Petit Verdot) and began producing its own wines in 2006. Today, the vineyard has over 5,625 vines on a 9.5 acre plot with grapes that produce 13 amazing wines!

In October 2018, Virginia Mountain Vineyards was purchased by new owners who are carrying on the tradition of growing and harvesting some of the best grapes in southwest Virginia. All of the Virginia Mountain Vineyards wines are produced from grapes that are harvested from our vineyard and are renowned for their quality.

Visiting Virginia Mountain Vineyards is an experience that marries the gorgeous mountain views with some of the best wines Virginia has to offer. Virginia Mountain Vineyards also has a beautiful event center overlooking a panoramic view of the Blue Ridge Mountains where we host weddings and corporate events, as well as musical and theatrical productions.
