The garden is all pulled out! We worked hard this week to get all the dahlias dug before the cold arrives this weekend! We have to still separate the tubers, but all are dug and washed! We are extremely tired and sore! We are feeling our age!😂

The dahlia dig of 2025 has begun! We started digging this morning and currently taking a break to watch the Buckeyes! These noon games throw a wrench in the process! In the spring we plant a single tuber and over the summer a single tuber can make 7-20 new tubers! We dig them with a potato fork and rinse the mud off before dividing! Jim does most of the dividing while I count, organize and pack the tubers in peet moss in these large wooden trays. This process will probably take us a few weeks.

Thanks to everyone for a wonderful season! Thursday I spent hours cutting all the flowers I could before the frost arrived! I loaded my cart and then made some arrangements and bundles of flowers to share! The end of the season came this morning with the frost! The flowers still look gorgeous with the frost on them! I will leave my cart at the road for a week or two for anyone wanting to return vases. I will be updating you all on the garden clean up process over the next few weeks!

Come visit the cart today or tomorrow! Tomorrow will, most likely, be the last day of the season! Frost is coming! I will be cutting the good flowers today and will stock the cart throughout the day and will put some out tomorrow after threat of frost has lifted!

I realized that I did not post my cart this morning! I know there is still plenty left! I had a group of lovely ladies join me this afternoon for a garden tour, flower arrangement instruction and a fun U-pick! My dahlias are beautiful, but a lot of my fillers are struggling through the end of the season! I will continue to take personal orders and will have my cart open till frost, but today was my last U-pick/ big event!
