Glad you asked:
When making a cup of tea make it the way you like it. I am saying this up front. The way you like it is your choice.
When making a cup of black tea be prepared for it to be strong. Most black teas, especially those from England, are especially blended to be strong. Tradition held that black tea tasted better when sugar and milk were added and there are remnants of this history in black teas today.
TIP: For an 8 ounce cup put one tea bag or one rounded teaspoon-full of tea in your cup for the best result.
TIP: Steep for 4 minutes. Steeping less will give you a weaker cup, and steeping longer will be stronger or turn bitter. There is no help for bitter tea. Adding more water won't help, and you'd have to add lots of sugar to make it good.
TIP: Steeping tea for over 5 minutes at the most, will not give you a stronger cup of tea. After five minutes saturation has expired. And remember the bitter principle.
Enjoy your tea. Make it the way you like it and it will be the most refreshing!
