The last 48 hours have been tough. It's hard to stand in a place as a person and a business and witness millions upon millions of people vote in a way that goes directly against my personal freedoms, protections, and rights. I'm afraid that the ripples of Tuesday will be felt for years to come.But one thing remains true--we still have a voice, we have a community, and we have a history of rising up against the odds. Does it suck to have to do it again? Yes.

Does it mean it's not worth doing? Absolutely not.

We will continue to be a voice for our community, and other marginalized communities who feel the way that we do, in as many ways as possible.

Lindsay and Tyler rented an incredible airbnb called the Flora House to get ready in before heading to the Denver Botanic Gardens for their ceremony and reception. Before we knew it, she and Tyler were crying as they saw each other for the first time in a hidden nook of the gardens. They decided to read personal vows during their first look and continued their emotional start to their wedding day with so much laughter and tears shared. Their overall theme was one of shared laughter, love and support, and finding ways to spend the small moments with each other as often as possible.

We retreated to the Waring House gardens for couple’s portraits and wedding party, then just as we wrapped those, a gentle rain settled in.

Lindsay and Tyler had their heart set on an outdoor ceremony at the romantic gardens so after waiting out the rain for 15 minutes, they decided that they would just go for it. And so began a magical ceremony held in a light summer rain. Together they exchanged rings and traditional vows, officiated by a good friend of theirs, then walked back down the aisle married!

After the ceremony they joined cocktail hour in Marnie’s pavilion, before being seated with their guests for dinner in the Orangery.

There were several toasts before their first dances and through all of them, Lindsay and Tyler were wrapped around each other, sharing hugs and cuddles as their loved ones toasted to their happiness and joy at having found each other.

They finished the evening with tons of hugs and photos with their friends, then a rocking dance party DJ’d by Tyler’s best man.

Today we said goodbye to the second sister in this sweet pair. We lost Nastia (on the left) 4 years ago, and today Katya (on the right) crossed the rainbow bridge to greet her sister.

and I got the two kitties together back in 2008 and they have been on so many adventures with us. They’ve lived on the 18th floor in DC, moved with us to upstate New York, and then rode in a U-Haul all the way to Colorado with us.

Over the years we’ve added our pup, Berkeley and recently our other cat, River.

But Katya was part of the original OG Crate crew and we will miss her deeply.

Here’s to you Katya—queen of knocking things off the counter, purr-meows, the greenest eyes, and the fluffiest cuddles. We will miss you ❤️

I’m in New York this week (half business half fun), so of course I remembered that yesterday was National Coming Out day in the middle of a ferry with no service 😂

But it’s never too late to celebrate and honor being authentic to yourself so here’s a little glimpse into this beautiful q***r life it’s been a privilege to be a part of. 🏳️‍🌈✨

I came out in college, though I had been questioning my sexuality since I was 14. I fell in love with , but it took awhile to be able to own the “labels” that I felt I needed to use to identify myself as part of a new community. For a while I felt more comfortable saying “I have a girlfriend” than I did saying “I’m gay”. In fact I’m pretty sure I came out to my parents by telling them Heather and I were dating, but not using any identifiers for myself personally.

As I grew more comfortable letting the public see me for who I was the labels have shifted for me. Now I feel lucky that the word q***r encompasses so many parts of the community that feel right for me. Once a word filled with fear and hate towards people, it now feels like a rich and beautiful tapestry of identities and expressions. It allows me to explore other personal identities of gay and bi, it wraps trans and non-binary folks in its arms, and it feels like a family.

This identity is also so engrained in my work and I’m privileged to have a voice in the wedding space that pushes forward the beauty of this community as a priority and a right.

Wherever you are in your own journey, I give you hugs and love.

*I know that the word q***r still doesn’t feel safe for many in the LGBTQ+ community, and my experience doesn’t minimize that for anyone. Every person has their own story and experience and if you’re really genuinely curious about getting to know someone in the community, ask thoughtful questions and listen with a goal of learning.

I got to explore RMNP with Virginia and Grayson in the last few days that the park felt "summer-y". It was the perfect evening for sparking lakes and streams and bare feet and elk sightings.I can't wait to celebrate in Colorado Spring with them next June!

I’m camping tonight before heading to Denver tomorrow for a wedding and I’m definitely feeling the fall vibes! The air is crisp, the moon is bright, and the leave are just starting to turn in places.

That "We said yes" feeling!Despite our best efforts for planning for a surprise proposal, Forest guessed that Ryan would happen on the Sunday we had planned for our shoot. However, they were completely caught off guard by the exact moment the proposal would happen and the reaction is perfectly displayed in these photos.

After their beautiful ceremony at the Pine Cathedral at , they brought their wedding party along for a post ceremony margarita toast, then spent a wonderful hour giving hugs and high fives to their friends and family.

After dinner they shared their first dance on the outdoor patio just as the sky was turning colors, then retreated inside for a high evening of dancing.

Zoe and Brendan part 1!Zoe and Brendan met in a gym--after eying him from afar for months, Zoe knew she needed to meet him. So she asked for his number, they went on a date, and the rest is history.

They brought their guests to the mountains of Bailey and Deer Creek Valley Ranch on a beautiful June day.

They got ready separately and set up a first look in the evergreens. They decided to share their vows privately so they could soak in the emotional moments just the two of them.

A little later Zoe’s brother officiated their ceremony at the Pine Cathedral and they walked back down the aisle husband and wife.

Chelsea and Teddy are urban souls who love going to their favorite spots together for good drinks and good food.

Since their wedding will be in Carbondale in the fall, we decided to hit up two of their favorite Denver locations for their engagement session.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Between specialty cocktails and pool at PS Lounge (site of their first date) and caviar hot dogs and oysters at the Yacht Club, we had so much fun exploring together.

Also, take this as your reminder that we can do absolutely anything for your engagement session, not matter how quirky or different you might feel it is. Let's go out and have some fun together!

April and Zach’s Colorado wedding day was a long time coming. We first connected back in 2022 and I’m so happy that we clicked right away.April and Zach have spent much of their relationship living apart, as they both pursued graduate degrees across the country from each other. They recently got to move to Washington DC together and they have been LOVING life in sync together.

Their intention with each other and with their loved ones is such an important part of their life together and they brought all of this and more to their wedding day in Lyons.

They chose to get ready with family, then wanted to see each other before their guests arrived. The joy on their faces when they could reconnect says it all!

They said their personal vows under the big trees on the property and sealed their commitment with a kiss.

Their reception centered their love for the outdoors, their family and friends, and their individual and shared culture. The hugs, tears of joy, and laughter were all in abundance as they spend the evening connecting meaningfully with everyone present.

Towards the tail end of the reception they changed into their Korean wedding outfits and hosted a Paebek Ceremony with their parents. This tradition of parents throwing dates and chestnuts into a special cloth is symbolic of how many children the universe is predicting for the couple and April and Zach had fun honoring this tradition with their parents.

The evening finished with a fire in the fire pit, petit fours, and lots and lots of hugs.
