I had never been to .mountainviewranch but Brittany and Charli brought me along with them to celebrate the start of their marriage in midst of towering evergreens and rustic elegance.

In classic Colorado fashion, we were battling the rain for the afternoon, but I think it made the day all the more magical and Brittany and Charli were perfectly willing to go with the flow.

They got ready in separate floors of the house on the property, then met in the trees for a beautiful first look. The incoming rain showers made it feel very Twilight inspired, and they were so happy to finally embrace under an umbrella together.

The rain quickly picked up so we retreated to the covered porch and indoors for a few more photos while guests arrived in shuttles and hung out under the covered patio. Luckily the rustic space for the reception had beautiful large windows and light even with the rain.

To give the weather a chance to clear, Brittany and Charli opened the bar and hosted cocktail hour before the ceremony and by the time they were ready to walk down the aisle and say “I do” the weather was tapering off and the sun was peaking out.

After the ceremony we wandered into some more twilight feeling trees, this time with sun pouring down on them, then they joined their guests for dinner, dancing, and toasts.

We did sneak out for sunset portraits and gave these two a few minutes to relax and breath in the fresh summer air, before they headed back in to join the dance party.

I love how in love Brittany and Charli are, how they met at just the right time, and how they laugh in exactly the same way.

Forest and Ryan Part 2!

During dinner, the weather took a crazy Colorado turn. It poured rain and then turned to hail that didn’t let up for over an hour.

Even though the band had to move indoors and the dancers on the dance floor could see their breath, everyone at the party stuck around to the end to celebrate Ryan and Forest.

A couple (more!) fun moments of their day:

Forest changed into a 3 piece suit after dinner to showcase their style.

They served Little Man Ice Cream for dessert.

They brought in an improv troop to lead guests through fun improv activities together.

All in all, a perfect Colorado wedding day!
Congratulations Forest and Ryan!

Forest and Ryan Part 1!
I don’t know if I’ve seen two people more jazzed with full body excitement to be marrying each other than Forest (she/they) and Ryan (he/him).

I captured their proposal in Rocky Mountain national Park last year, and I was beyond excited to be able to continue celebrating them at their wedding in Idaho Springs at .

We met up in Golden where they got ready separately, but quickly convened for a first look by the creek of the Golden Hotel

The joy on both of their faces when they saw each other for the first time, set the tone for the day. They truly created an experience that represented the things they loved about their relationship and each other, including taking their family and friends to a favorite trailhead near their venue that boasted aspen groves, and wildflowers

When we got to their venue, Echo Mountain Resort, they wanted to build in the time to allow their friends and family to ride the chairlift with them. So we took a turn on the lift cheering and celebrating with everyone on the way up and down. True to form, Ryan even made up a song that he sang to Forest while they rode together.

Their ceremony was held in front of the most gorgeous, full-scale mountain backdrop. The vows that they shared with each other touched on the way they brought out the humorous, silly, goofy sides of each other and how their love and support of each other allowed them to be their true authentic selves in a way they didn’t know was possible.

Their adorable, golden doodle, Tofu, delivered their rings to cheers and high-fives. The physical connection was prominent through the ceremony, including doing a ring warming with every guest in the audience.

After their first kiss, they danced down the aisle and into the tent, where they jumped up and down and celebrated finally being married together

Stay tuned for Part 2!

Virginia and Grayson chose to spend their day as much together as possible. They invited their family to get ready with them at their house. From sharing a wedding day shot together fine whiskey, to making the time for a portrait on the front porch of their space they’ve created together, it was all about partnership and connection for the two of them.

We took their wedding party and family to garden of the gods for some portraits where their friends came through as umbrella holders to do their best to beat the heat and sun

After portraits, we headed to Craftwood Peak, a cute historical venue in Manitou springs.

Because of the heat, they moved their ceremony indoors, but held their cocktail hour in the indoor outdoor patio of the venue. Right after they came down from saying I do, they were greeted by some deer grazing just outside the windows.

They were excited to hug people and spend time with their guests before heading inside for a beautiful dinner and some heartfelt toast

Then it was back upstairs for some first dances, followed by sunset photos on some nearby rocks. The way the lights wrapped them completely complimented the joy of the summer day.

Congratulations Virginia and Grayson!

Claudia and Jenna took over on July 4th to celebrate their wedding with their family and friends. They planned their wedding while juggling Jenna's vet school schedule and moving twice (one of them just after the wedding!), so they had a lot of on their plate.

Despite that, they pulled together a wonderful crew of friends and family to support them and to help them with the details when they arrived in Colorado. From their friends taking over the ceremony arch creation to them crafting special moments for their ring bearer and flower girls,

Their joy was apparent from start to finish and I'm so happy our team could be there to capture such beautiful memories for them.

Congratulations Claudia and Jenna!

Blake and Z brought the style and the giddiness to their wedding day.

They got ready in separate spaces at the Saint Vrain where they had each of their parties helping with the final touches. Blake’s mom was especially helpful in getting all the details just right and making sure that the two coordinated without sharing all the details of their outfits with each other before the wedding day.

Z shared words with Blake during the first look that they were afraid they wouldn’t be able to saynwithout crying in front of other people. Their moments of excitement were infectious.

We crossed the street to the historic gardens for some portraits, but before we knew it, it was time for their ceremony. Blake’s brother officiated the ceremony with so much love and care.

After their first kiss, they joyously danced down the aisle. It was all hugs and tears with their wedding party afterwards and soon they joined their friends and family for cocktail hour. It was important for them to see and hug everyone present, and they spent an hour laughing as they made the rounds with their mock cocktails.

Speaking of mock tails, they created some delicious mock shells for their guests that everyone was talking about

Dinner and dancing kicked off in the main reception space and we’re highlighted by several toasts from their friends and family

Blake and Z hit the dance floor until the very last song had played, and there were only a handful of friends left, but it didn’t matter if their numbers were small, they were joyous and full of love and laughter until the very last minute.
