I’m camping tonight before heading to Denver tomorrow for a wedding and I’m definitely feeling the fall vibes! The air is crisp, the moon is bright, and the leave are just starting to turn in places.

I'm finishing up edits on Jen and Katy's beautiful wedding this week so I wanted to share some favorites!

Jen and Katy created the most magical, connected, event in Portland and brought together all of their favorite people. They included the family, friends, and kiddos who have been there to support them from day one and they spent the day wrapped in the love of the community they have created.

That "We said yes" feeling!Despite our best efforts for planning for a surprise proposal, Forest guessed that Ryan would happen on the Sunday we had planned for our shoot. However, they were completely caught off guard by the exact moment the proposal would happen and the reaction is perfectly displayed in these photos.

After their beautiful ceremony at the Pine Cathedral at , they brought their wedding party along for a post ceremony margarita toast, then spent a wonderful hour giving hugs and high fives to their friends and family.

After dinner they shared their first dance on the outdoor patio just as the sky was turning colors, then retreated inside for a high evening of dancing.

Zoe and Brendan part 1!Zoe and Brendan met in a gym--after eying him from afar for months, Zoe knew she needed to meet him. So she asked for his number, they went on a date, and the rest is history.
They brought their guests to the mountains of Bailey and Deer Creek Valley Ranch on a beautiful June day.
They got ready separately and set up a first look in the evergreens. They decided to share their vows privately so they could soak in the emotional moments just the two of them.
A little later Zoe’s brother officiated their ceremony at the Pine Cathedral and they walked back down the aisle husband and wife.

Chelsea and Teddy are urban souls who love going to their favorite spots together for good drinks and good food.

Since their wedding will be in Carbondale in the fall, we decided to hit up two of their favorite Denver locations for their engagement session.

Between specialty cocktails and pool at PS Lounge (site of their first date) and caviar hot dogs and oysters at the Yacht Club, we had so much fun exploring together.

April and Zach’s Colorado wedding day was a long time coming. We first connected back in 2022 and I’m so happy that we clicked right away.April and Zach have spent much of their relationship living apart, as they both pursued graduate degrees across the country from each other. They recently got to move to Washington DC together and they have been LOVING life in sync together.
Their intention with each other and with their loved ones is such an important part of their life together and they brought all of this and more to their wedding day in Lyons.
They chose to get ready with family, then wanted to see each other before their guests arrived. The joy on their faces when they could reconnect says it all!
They said their personal vows under the big trees on the property and sealed their commitment with a kiss.
Their reception centered their love for the outdoors, their family and friends, and their individual and shared culture. The hugs, tears of joy, and laughter were all in abundance as they spend the evening connecting meaningfully with everyone present.
Towards the tail end of the reception they changed into their Korean wedding outfits and hosted a Paebek Ceremony with their parents. This tradition of parents throwing dates and chestnuts into a special cloth is symbolic of how many children the universe is predicting for the couple and April and Zach had fun honoring this tradition with their parents.
The evening finished with a fire in the fire pit, petit fours, and lots and lots of hugs.

Yesterday was National LGBTQ+ Equality Day and if no one has told you lately not only are you allowed to exist but your presence is a blessing to everyone around you.
You deserve to live and love however feels authentic to you and to take up as much space as you want on this floating rock. 🌎

Zoe and Brendan are getting married later this month but we wanted to wait for the warmer weather for their engagement session. We lucked out with the perfect conditions for our jaunt up Lookout Mountain!Can't wait to see you two again soon!
Maggie and Zach dreamed of a Colorado engagement session and we made their dreams a reality in early May in Rocky Mountain National Park!We had perfect weather at Sprague Lake, where there were blue skies in one direction and misty snow covered mountains in the opposite direction.
But the best part was how goofy Maggie and Zach are together and how they make each other laugh every other minute. A life in their house must be seriously fun.
The've got exciting things happening in their lives this year as they gear up for their wedding next year and I'm so happy that we could cross paths in Colorado this spring!

Katie and Anna were such a joy to photograph. Their relationship has withstood long distance and over the years together they have built a beautifully strong foundation that sets them up perfectly for marriage.We explored Rocky Mountain National Park in the sunshine in early April, and not only did we get to chat and get to know each other, I got to see the multiple ways these two made each other laugh. It was so much fun to witness!
They'll be exploring Crested Butte with their immediate family for their wedding in June and I'm so excited for them :)

Liz and Max met online (as so many do these days!) and had their first date Christmas shopping for family presents. Right away they felt comfortable with each other and decided to move right on into dating. Within 2 months they knew they were going to be the real deal and that lead us to their beautiful wedding day in Estes Park!They chose the Boulders at Black Canyon Inn and what we thought was going to be a dreary and rainy wedding day turned out to be the most perfect early spring day imaginable.
Max and Liz got ready separately so they could do a causal first look, but since they are each other’s main hype people, they already knew each other’s looks.
We ventured to the rocks with their wedding party (even though one was on crutches!) and had the best time being silly before the ceremony.
The said their vows to each other in front of their friends and family with most incredible view of the Estes Park mountains as their backdrop.
The evening was all about the party, with great mingling around fire pits, a perfect sunset, and a dance floor full of light sabers (fitting as their wedding day fell on May 4th!).

Erik and Copper are getting married in Mexico in November, but wanted to capture the contrasting beauty of Colorado in their engagement session.We lucked out with a beautiful April evening in Boulder, where we played with their pup Dobby (yes, from Harry Potter!), and took in the sunset from up on high.

I meant to share this last week, but I'm so excited to announce that I won my first (The Legend Award)! This is the newest award space for organic and candid elopement photographs from weddings with less than 15 people.
It's so awesome to see recognition for the amazing elopement photographers out there whose images often fall outside of the criteria for traditional wedding awards.
And while I love a medium size wedding, I also love getting a little farther off the grid with couples who choose a more intimate elopement expereince.
and choses Maroon Bells in the fall for their destination elopement. And you won't believe the excitement when a moose just happened to wander into their photos right after their ceremony.
Ashley and Kait had done a hike earlier in the week where moose are supposed to be prolific, and they hadn't seen one. So they were so excited to have one present on their wedding day!
I missed posting this yesterday as I was working the ***rafengagementparty, but it’s still an important about out, so here goes!!
A family is not defined by two parents and their genders- it is defined by choosing each other over and over.
Raising tiny humans can be a challenge, but the only thing that isn’t a challenge is loving them and making sure they know they are loved. 🥰

I'm so excited to share that I've picked up another FEARLESS award () in 2024!This photos was taken in 2020 and Katie and James had come to Colorado during the pandemic to get married on a mountaintop.
We had just finished photos up the gondola and were headed back to their reception site when it started to sprinkle. Katie's bridesmaids helped her cover her head with James' jacket so she could dash inside.
I was a few steps ahead of the group and turned around to say something when I saw this perfectly joyful and candid moment happening in front of me. I fired off a couple of shots as quick as I could and wound up with this photo that just radiates Katie's feelings about her wedding day.
Definitely a favorite from their amazing day in the mountains!

Lee and Lydia are a low key couple who wanted an elopement day that felt the same. They didn’t want bells and whistles, just a quiet celebration in the snow with their closest family and friends.And they specifically chose to elope on Leap Year so they had something really special to look forward to every 4 years.
We met at a trailhead just outside of the Breckenridge Nordic Center where we boarded a snow cat together.
Lee would have driven the snow cat if she could and she was super excited to get married in her favorite season on such a beautiful Colorado day. AND she got to wear new mukluks, which were a highlight of her outfit!
The snowcat dropped Lee and Lydia off about 150 feet before an overlook so they could take a few minutes together to be alone and read their private vows.
While they were gone, their family gathered in a semi-circle and waited for Lee and Lydia to join them for their ceremony. There were emotional readings, a video message from a good friend who couldn’t make it, and an exchange of rings. Then Lee and Lydia were pronounced married!!
After the ceremony, we headed to the Hallelujah Hut where there was charcuterie and champagne for toasts. Then it was time for a couple of rounds of sledding, and a few snaps with the snowcat.
At the end of the day, we rode the snowcat down the trail, where Lee and Lydia were headed back to their airbnb for a private dinner experience with their family and friends.

Coming in from out of state with their immediate families, Elizabeth and Connor rented a gorgeous airbnb where they could gather, celebrate, and relax together. Their motto for the weekend was “going to the mountains to get married” and that was just what they did.We started the day with a gorgeously decorated ceremony in front of the floor to ceiling windows in the house. They shared personal vows with each other, exchanged rings, were blessed by every family member, and tearfully listened to readings from each of their moms. With a kiss and a cheer they were declared married!
After a quick toast, we donned our hiking boots and made the trek to Mayflower Gulch to chase the sunlight.
We could not have asked for a more perfect bluebird sky winter day, and despite the cold temps, we had so much fun in the snow together!
Post hike Elizabeth were headed back for a chef’s dinner and a hot tub dip with their families, which is the perfect way to end a wedding day in the mountains!
