seriously I think I can't do this anymore. I thought we had a successful launch at Daddy O's, my hard cores showed up and we had a great night...I THOUGHT WRONG.

I was told not successful enough and I should change my business model, that seems to work for a majority but the minority businesses who don't really understand marketing or who is their CORE TARGET DEMO. For me it's women 40-65. And men of the same age...so I play the music of the era to create a mood of nostalgia and good feelings associated with music of our era... that's key that unlocks endorphins, and the natural good feeling drug you get with good food, good company, and fun fair games where everybody can play and participate evenly. For those who aren't game players, there's enough fun in an observational mode to make it fun for the casual viewer of the game as well.

But it's not instant success. I would love it to be, but habits take time. Dining and entertainment habits have to be built over a period of time. it has to be appointment participation if you will, meaning you know about it on a consistent basis to know about it in order to decide to try it. finally, if you're a newbie, to trivia or gaming in restaurants in general.

there's trepidation for new people when coming into a new situation, and I'm trying to make it as inviting as possible and as easy as possible... And you, my trivia players, are a big part of that because you help newbies and get them excited for it because that's what we need as a supportive community.

I just hated hate being treated like I'm trying to rob the place without a mask but with a microphone. and that I come up with arbitrary numbers to hurt my clients and their customers, which is of course ridiculous. but it's an adversarial situation every time I go in to talk to somebody and make them converts into believers and Friends.

but then you have others like Octavio at Casa Mexico, and Mark Anthony at JB's Bar and Grill who gets it! It's not always a home run but we score our RBIs and know it's about the long game.
