Fitzgerald Fly-In

The Fitzgerald Fly-in was scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday 9/28. Last night Fitzgerald took a direct hit from Hurricane Helene. Fitzgerald has no power, no land lines, no cell service, no internet. We are canceling the Fly-in for this weekend. We hope to see you at next year's fly-in. Please help spread the word about the cancelation.

We are on final approach to this weekend's Fitzgerald Fly-in held in conjunction with the Fitzgerald Fall Festival!

In order to help us plan our food needs we would love to know how many are coming. So... If' you will send us an email to [email protected] and let us know you're coming to the hamburger fly-in by Friday at noon and how many people you'll be bringing (including yourself), we'll enter your name in a drawing for 10 gallons of av-gas! The drawing will be held on Saturday around 1:00PM. You must be present to win.

UPDATE!!!

Planning, organizing, and pulling off a movie fly-in and a hamburger fly-in all in conjunction with an annual festival is always a challenge. Throw in a forecasted hurricane and something has to give! So, we have made the decision to cancel the movie fly-in for Friday evening at Fitzgerald Airport (KFZG).

At this time the weather forecast for Saturday looks great so we're still planning on having the hamburger fly-in! Come join us for great pilot fellowship and some really good hamburgers!

When: Saturday, September 28th. 12 - 1

Fitzgerald Fall Festival

Pilots, the Fitzgerald Fall Festival and Fitzgerald Fly-in are only a couple of weeks away! To kick things off, on Friday, September 27, we'll be hosting a movie fly-in!, After the movie you're invited to set up camp and camp out under the wing so you'll be well rested for all of the activities on Saturday.! Bring a friend or the family and join us on Friday night for a great time and a great movie. This year were featuring that classic comedy from 1980, Airplane!

Don't miss this great time! Come on out, we'll be waiting for you!!

Fitzgerald Fly-in is right around the corner! This is a fly-in experience that the whole family can enjoy! Bring your spouse, bring your kids, there is something for everyone in the family to enjoy. Fitzgerald fly-in is held in conjunction with the Fitzgerald Fall Festival. In addition to good hamburgers and great pilot fellowship there is live entertainment, arts and crafts vendors, festival food vendors, kids' activities and even an antique tractor show and more. The Hamburger fly-in takes place on September 28th at 12:00, the festival starts at 9:00 am. Come early, enjoy the festival then join us for a great burger meal at the Fitzgerald Fly-in.

July is over and we are now one month closer to having a great time at the Fitzgerald Hamburger Fly-in and Fitzgerald Fall Festival!! In addition, there will be a movie night fly-in on Friday evening, camping under the wing and other fun activities. This is a fly-in event that has something for the whole family, so, bring your spouse and the kids. The whole family will have fun at this event!

SAVE THE DATE and plan on joining us on Friday and Saturday, September 27th and 28th for weekend of flying fun!

This past weekend the Rotary Club of Fitzgerald Ga. hosted it’s annual hamburger fly-in held in conjunction with the Fitzgerald Fall Festival. This year we added a new element to the fly-in experience. On Friday evening, we hosted an outdoor movie fly-in. After the movie pilots were invited to camp out next to their airplane so they would have good start to Saturday’s activities.
We had a great turnout for our first outdoor movie! Pilots arrived Friday evening in time to setup their tents for the night. As the sun set the temperature started dropping just as the movie, Top Gun Maveric started playing. Very shortly afterwards a full moon started rising providing a beautiful setting for our first outdoor movie! Here are few images from Friday’s events.

Pilots, join the Rotary Club of Fitzgerald Ga. for the Fitzgerald Fly-In. Join us for good hamburgers and great pilot fellowship! This hamburger fly-in is held in conjunction with the Fitzgerald Fall Festival.

Arrive Friday evening before the festival for a movie fly in, then camp out under the wing Friday night so you will be rested and ready to go for all of the festival activities and hamburger fly-in on Saturday!
