And this happened yesterday too...just amazing....

OK folks, with all the inspiring stories from yesterday's 46th annual Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flagstaff Half Marathon and 5K, I errantly forgot to hand out and announce my favorite award that once again goes to the most remarkable Flagstaff Running Series diehard fan, David Hockman.

As far as I'm aware, David set a new record when he became the first 90 year old to cross the finish line in yesterday's BBBSF 5K Fun Run. Congrats to David, your award will be presented in the very near future!

We look forward to handing that award to David again next year!

Just a quick reminder that there is NO NATRA group run on Saturday as most of us will be out supporting or racing the Hopi Relief Footprints Run at Fort Tuthill.

I strongly encourage you to pick up your packet today at Run Flagstaff from 2 to 6 PM, as demand for this race has increased significantly in the past week, and they will likely have nearly 400 runners in person tomorrow.

The 10K goes off at 8 AM, and the 2 mile fun run at 8:15 AM. NATRA will be coordinating the Series Kid's Dash at 7:45 AM at the start line.

By registering or picking up your packet today, you will avoid the lines tomorrow, however, if you plan to do so tomorrow, be sure to get to Fort Tuthill by 6:30 AM!

Good luck to all racers and walkers tomorrow!

Holy moly, I had no idea this happened on Saturday, and as far as I can remember, this is a first time (and most likely last time) that a runner outright wins both the 5K and 10Ks of a Flagstaff race!

Hosava Kretzmann of Flagstaff figured that if he could race the Northland Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc 5k course in about 15 minutes, he could line up just in time to compete in the 10K. Well, Kretzmann took 1st place in the 5k at 00:15:54 and had just enough time to jump in the 10K where he was the first to cross the finish line in 00:33:42.

If anyone remembers this happening at any other local race, put it in the comments! Either way, hats off to Hosava for an unbelievable accomplishment.
