Fair Season is here! The Boyd County Fair kicks off with Pre-Fair events this weekend. The Fair officially begins August 13th and runs through August 17th!
From Bluegrass to Motorsports, there is something for everyone!

Did you receive storm ⛈️ damage during the May 22nd storm? If so, FEMA opened a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) at the Flatwoods Senior Citizens Center (2511 Reed Street, Flatwoods, KY 41139). Hours of operation will be Monday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

FEMA will also have crews on the ground going door to door to help spread the word about the DRC and assist with registrations. These crews will be wearing FEMA apparel and will have FEMA credentials. Crews will start going door to door on August 3, 2024. If you know citizens that were impacted by storms between May 21st and May 27th please direct them to the DRC.

Looking for something to do tonight, stop by Downtown Russell with “Last Thursday” for some good music 🎼 and food.

Then tomorrow night at 5 starts the celebration for the “Million Dollar Oval”, in Raceland. The Cincinnati Circus will be there along with music and food.

We want to thank all our volunteers for taking time to attend the 3rd Annual Touch-A-Truck. These folks are the best and love giving children and adults alike the opportunity to experience sitting in and seeing equipment up close they may never have the opportunity to see.

Thank you to event coordinator Kristen Gleason, she does an outstanding job planning this event for a year to make sure the experience is the best it can be. We also want to thank our Flatwoods Parks and Recreation Board for their continued support and working this event.
