Green your Halloween at the Convenience center through November! From November 1st to December 3rd, residents may bring leftover pumpkins and decorative squash to a special dumpster at the Henderson County Convenience Center. Previously, this material has been taken to a private compost facility in Spartanburg, SC but now the collected food waste and pumpkins are being composted on-site at the County’s Compost Facility pilot, the first municipal Type 3 compost facility in Western North Carolina!

"Buses with WiFi, Oh My!

The Henderson County Public Schools Technology Department is excited to announce availability of 15 school parking lot locations for WiFi-enabled buses!

These parked buses are equipped with wireless internet access and powered with solar panels, making these available to HCPS families every day, all day.

Families can begin to use these buses at the 15 following school parking lots, updated on the Internet Map for HCPS Families, with more coming soon!

Elementary:
Atkinson, Dana, Edneyville, Etowah, Fletcher, Hillandale, Mills River, Sugarloaf and Upward

Middle:
Flat Rock and Rugby

High:
East Henderson, Innovative High Schools, North Henderson and West Henderson"
