12 years...22 locations from Naples, Florida to Easton, MA...tens of thousands of new artists. When I first told my friends I was opening an art studio I remember two quotes..."Do you even know how to paint?" and "I give it 2-3 years, max."
Over 12 years, Masterpiece Mixers Paint & Party - Braselton has celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, bachelorette parties, divorce parties, GNO, date nights, pet portraits, holiday parties, team building and just making memories.
I flew in from Florida last night for our final public class, after weather flight delays I made is just in time for our class picture (no make up and hair in a well travelled scrunchy bun)-and to see one more group of happy artists head home with their artwork-great job all!
I am so proud of what we accomplished and am honored to have worked with all of the instructors, students, interns and owners I met along the way. Watching those around me grow, graduate, start their own art studios or art careers, seeing clients walk in nervous and leave truly proud of themselves. Crying with new friends as they put their finishing touches on their pet's painting or seeing a six-year old hold up her painting beaming with pride...watching a middle-aged divorcee who has been beaten down and this moment of painting was the few hours she lost herself and found herself all at once.
Having the help of my amazing family, husband and friends as we learned how to grow, to franchise, to deal with Covid...and in my case... to learn how to paint! Having a painting hanging in the United Nations building (total credit to Kelli Dowling Ivey and Debbi Whitney), painting hearts for the victims of the Just People Inc. Christmas crash...raising money for so many schools, non-profits, humane societies, churches and sports groups.
Y'all...I cannot express the gratitude I have in my heart for these last 12 years. To the Town of Braselton, Georgia, my landlord, my staff, our customers, the community and my family...THANK YOU!
This has been one fun ride Mixers. As we close the doors to the studio for good tonight, I hope that my little contribution to this community has given back as much to you all as it did to me. Don't be sad-with each closed door, new doors open and thus is the cycle of business and life. I hope my journey has inspired others to go for it-every business does't have to last forever-just make sure to enjoy the ride.
You Got This!
