Let me take you back for a second… 🕰️

I was a single mom, personal trainer, with just a few bucks in my bank account, and an idea that seemed crazy at the time. Sound familiar? 🤔

In 2008, my husband and I had this wild vision—turning a European-style barn into a wedding venue. And just like that, I went from having negative $1,500 in the bank to making $100K in my first year. 💸

But here’s the thing: It wasn’t a smooth ride. I had to learn to deal with people’s strong opinions about what I should or shouldn’t do with my business. 😤 I had to learn that I couldn’t please everyone—and I definitely had to set boundaries between work and personal life (a lesson I learned the hard way). 🤦🏼‍♀️

Here’s the deal: 2025 is the year to expand your empire smartly, not recklessly. 🚀

A lot of business owners get stuck thinking they have to take on EVERYTHING at once. But here’s the truth—you don’t. 🙅‍♀️

✔️Don’t bite off more than you can chew. It’s easy to get excited about a new idea, but if your current business is thriving (or needs your attention), give it time to breathe before diving into something new. ⏳

✔️Keep a notebook handy at all times. If inspiration strikes (and it will ✨), write it down, but don’t let it derail your current focus. The ideas will still be there when you have the space to act on them. 📓

✔️Build your team. No, you don’t have to hire a million people right away, but if you want to branch out, you need the right support. Whether it’s hiring, delegating, or leaning on your personal circle, you don’t have to do it alone. 👯‍♀️

So, yeah, it’s possible to diversify and grow without losing your mind. But it’s gonna take time, patience, and a little bit of planning. 🧠

I’ve always said I can sell 💩 in a paper bag—and honestly?

I still stand by it.

Because running a business isn’t about having it all figured out, it’s about knowing how to make it work even when things hit the fan.

When I opened my first wedding venue, I didn’t have a fancy business plan or a magic formula for success. What I did have was:

✅ Contracts that could actually hold up in court
🔄 The ability to pivot fast when things go sideways
🤝🏼 Vendors I trusted to deliver every single time
💼 And the mindset that showing up no matter what was non-negotiable

The truth? Success isn’t about avoiding problems—it’s about knowing how to handle them when they show up (because they will).
