✨ Find Your Passion: What part of planning lights you up? Weddings, corporate events, or social gatherings—lean into what you love and let that guide you.

✨ Learn as You Go: You don’t have to know everything at first. Shadowing pros, taking a course, or just saying ‘yes’ to small opportunities can teach you so much.

✨ Start Where You Are: My first events were for friends and family, and honestly, they taught me the basics. Every little bit of experience counts.

✨ Build Real Connections: This industry is all about relationships. The more you connect with venues, vendors, and even other planners, the more opportunities will come your way.

✨ Share Your Work: Don’t be afraid to post what you’re working on—even if it’s small or just a styled shoot. It’s about showing your heart and creativity.

Let me take you back for a second… 🕰️

I was a single mom, personal trainer, with just a few bucks in my bank account, and an idea that seemed crazy at the time. Sound familiar? 🤔

In 2008, my husband and I had this wild vision—turning a European-style barn into a wedding venue. And just like that, I went from having negative $1,500 in the bank to making $100K in my first year. 💸

But here’s the thing: It wasn’t a smooth ride. I had to learn to deal with people’s strong opinions about what I should or shouldn’t do with my business. 😤 I had to learn that I couldn’t please everyone—and I definitely had to set boundaries between work and personal life (a lesson I learned the hard way). 🤦🏼‍♀️

A lot of business owners get stuck thinking they have to take on EVERYTHING at once. But here’s the truth—you don’t. 🙅‍♀️

✔️Don’t bite off more than you can chew. It’s easy to get excited about a new idea, but if your current business is thriving (or needs your attention), give it time to breathe before diving into something new. ⏳

✔️Keep a notebook handy at all times. If inspiration strikes (and it will ✨), write it down, but don’t let it derail your current focus. The ideas will still be there when you have the space to act on them. 📓

✔️Build your team. No, you don’t have to hire a million people right away, but if you want to branch out, you need the right support. Whether it’s hiring, delegating, or leaning on your personal circle, you don’t have to do it alone. 👯‍♀️

So, yeah, it’s possible to diversify and grow without losing your mind. But it’s gonna take time, patience, and a little bit of planning. 🧠

I still stand by it.
