The time is now to register for the annual Steam School at Heritage Park in Forest City, Iowa. There is a beginners class and advanced class. The beginners class is for anyone with no prior experience and focuses on the safe operation and care of steam boilers and engines.
The advanced class is for those who have prior experience and who want to get into more detailed aspects of boiler work and engine maintenance. All attendees will help prepare one or more steam traction engines for steam up. Tuition is only $100 and includes handbook, continental breakfast, lunch and break refreshments. Class sizes are limited, so register today.

Come and enjoy watching scale model sizes of steam and fly wheel engines. These table top models are just like the big ones! This event will be held in the large RV Museum at Heritage Park in Forest City, Iowa from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, March 1. Then, join us for a pancake breakfast on Sunday morning, March 2 from 9 to 11 a.m. Anyone interested in coming to display may contact Monte Topp at 641-529-1587 for details.

As you look to your planned giving and volunteer contributions for the coming year, we hope you will include Heritage Park and the Winnebago Historical Society. The Mansion Museum and the Museums of Heritage Park are where history is maintained for generations to come. We are a 501c3 non-profit, and all contributions are tax deductible as allowed by Iowa law. We have spots for volunteers to assist us whether it be for one hour or many. Mark your calendars for the 2025 Heritage Fest (formerly Steam Threshing Festival). It will be August 1-2-3, at Heritage Park located in Forest City. All makes and models of vintage tractors are invited to exhibit and there is no fee to do so. We will feature the complete line of Minneapolis-Moline tractors and implements as we host the Prairie Gold Rush for their annual show. Come out and experience the days of yesterday!

No matter where you are in this life this Christmas Season you are most welcome to join us at the 1890 beautiful Beaver Creek Church to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ! Music by the Albertsons and Second Generation followed by a message by Paul Walberg plus the candlelights will warm you in many ways. Nothing has changed in this 130 year old church except its heated by Natural Gas instead of wood and cobs and there are no horses hitched to the posts outside!! Christmas is for the kids they say but this year its for you and your family at Heritage Park.
Come early this Sunday to hear Christmas Music with the service starting at 4 PM followed by Christmas treats in the basement afterwards! There's only one thing missing in this picture -its YOU!
Remember also the Mansion is open from 1-4 pm Sunday so make an afternoon of it!!

To better reflect all that Heritage Park has to offer, we have changed the name of the annual Steam Threshing Festival to Heritage Fest. The next event is August 1-3, 2025. The 3-day event is a celebration of our rural lifestyles in the early 1900s. Along with steam engines in various operations, there are other activities including a blacksmith, log sawing, stationary engines, antique autos and over two dozen historical museums and collections on the grounds. Mark your calendar now and plan to join your friends at next year's HERITAGE FEST in Forest City, Iowa.

At the 2025 HERITAGE FEST, we will host the Prairie Gold Rush and feature all lines related to Minneapolis-Moline. Event dates are August 1-3, 2025 at Heritage Park in Forest City. This 1954 Minneapolis-Moline R is owned by Carl Wagner of Forest City. This was the first in 1954 of the last 8 "R" models built and it was originally built as a factory LP tractor.

This ad for the Avery Farm Truck says the truck could haul 100 bushels of grain on its own bed and pull a loaded wagon behind with a speed of 2 to 12 miles an hour. This truck could do the work of 6 to 10 horses. B.F Avery merged with the Minneapolis-Moline company in 1951. Learn more about the Avery tractors and equipment when you visit the Heritage Fest, August 1-2-3, 2025 at Heritage Park in Forest City. Avery will be one of the lines featured as part of the Prairie Gold Rush show.
