And one more review before the holiday from Florida Theater On Stage: The classic is precisely 60 years old, but ' Playhouse re-re-production of Man of La Mancha resounds loudly with undeniable resonances today. In our times as troubled as Cervantes’ 16th Century Spanish Inquisition, La Mancha remains a relevant clarion call for us to remain steadfast in our integrity to the principles we hold – regardless of the cost. This third run by the Playhouse is blessed with arresting acting, adroit direction, engrossing design elements and a superb band all integrated into a powerful experience, ranging from the robust production to its effect on the audience. by David Arisco and starring Gaby Tortoledo, Jose Luaces and a wlecome return home of E.L. Losada. Read at floridatheateronstage.com -- and have a reviving Thanksgiving.

Another review at Florida Theater On Stage: Love and grief don’t have a timetable but can occur at anytime, often blindsiding. Love can vanish too quickly while grief can linger too long. Both emotions are in full force in the comedy-drama Left on Tenth, receiving a sweet, poignant production through Dec. 21 at the GableStage. Based on Delia Ephron’s memoir about her life following the death of her husband of 33 years, the play richly touches on love, loss, grief, illness, surviving and the resilience of the human heart. Left on Tenth is also about the power of unconditional love—both human and canine—about never giving up on love and how sometimes that love can come when one least expects it. Starring Dalia Alemán, Stephen Schnetzer, Margot Moreland, Ben Sandomir and two dogs. Directed by Bari Newport. Read at floridatheateronstage.com. Review coming of ' Playhouse's Man of La Mancha.

Florida Theater On Stage review: Produced by Curtain Call Playhouse, and written by the late great Neil Simon, California Suite is not a traditional play, but a series of four playlets revolving around guests in Suite 203/204 at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Three of these vignettes are disappointments that don’t land at all, but one is the proverbial “diamond in the rough” that is worth the visit. Read the review at floridatheateronstage.com. From Florida Theater On Stage: Many of this year’s Carbonell Awards, Inc.. recipients were familiar names with acclaimed artistry, but the gala itself Monday was filled with changes and a few surprises. From a new location at Florida Atlantic University to changes in hosting duties to an 11-piece orchestra, the wryly nicknamed “theater prom” had a new look. The 48th annual awards akin to a local Tony Awards honored excellence in 20 competitive categories, three scholarships, eight special awards to major contributors to the theater community plus a new one the Christine Dolen Award for Outstanding Debut. From Florida Theater On Stage: Another review: Island City Stage’s Ruthless! The Musical fires on all cylinders, literally everything about Ruthless! clicks, be it the cast, the direction, the design, the music, the choreography, or the costumes. This is theatrical excess in the best, and worst, way. Ruthless! The Musical is a perfectly choreographed train wreck, and that’s a compliment. Read the review at floridatheateronstage.com. From Florida Theater On Stage: Last week was terrific for local theater. Here's our latest review: Pompano Players’ Steel Magnolias captures all the heart and humor that made this story a classic. With a strong ensemble, deft direction, and performances that spark both hearty laughter and heartfelt tears, this version feels timeless in its attention to human frailty and the power of friendship to sustain us. From Florida Theater On Stage: Yet another review. Theatre Lab might consider issuing seat belts along with tickets to performances of its season-opening production, The City in the City in the City. The world premiere of Matthew Capodicasa’s kaleidoscopic, fantastical play is a roller coaster ride, skillfully steered by director Matt Stabile, full of twists, turns, blind corners and about-faces. To keep up you’ll have to glue your eyes to the stage for a gripping 100 minutes with no intermission. Thirty roles shared by Niki Fridh and Vaishnavi Sharma Read the review at floridatheateronstage.com. Also read about The Mother at Zoetic Stage.

From Florida Theater On Stage: The first review in a full weekend. Zoetic Stage’s season has opened with a tantalizing, psychological, playful dark comedy that has the audience second-guessing, laughing, and gasping in surprise. The Mother is described by the playwright as a black farce. Starring Jeni Hacker and Steve Anthony, directed by Stuart Meltzer. Read at floridatheateronstage.com
