Dear Florida Dance Magic Attendees and Followers,

After much deliberation and with mixed emotions Bruce and I have decided to hand over the reins of Florida Dance Magic to someone new. We will continue, as certified teachers, to teach and judge WCS, but we are ready to have a little more freedom to travel and attend WCS events now.

FDM has truly been a labor of love into which we have poured our money, hearts and countless hours of work over the many, many years we have had the honor of being its owner and directors.

We were excited and happy to take over the original event, (Miami Dance Magic Swing/Hustle) in 07, after its 2nd year, as there were just a few dedicated WCS events in west and central Florida at that time.

Our vision was to bring to South Florida a WCS event full of the latest in music and Champion level “social dance pros“, who would bring excellent dance education from all across the country to create an intimate and friendly WCS event with lots of social dancing and some social competitions.

We hope we made it possible to bring a little "magic" to you, our attendees, over the years by providing an opportunity to “dance with the stars”.

We are excited to announce that the new owners of Florida Dance Magic are Robert Cordoba, Robin Landry and April Prince.

Robert has been both a teacher and a long time friend to us and we are confident that he will bring his Champion skills and long history in this dance to FDM. In addition Robin has been traveling and teaching with Robert for many years. April has been our head DJ since we have owned FDM and owns other successful WCS events around the country. Florida Dance Magic is in great hands.

We wish Robert, Robin and April, all the best as they apply their talents and vision to Florida Dance Magic going forward.

As previously announced in August, Florida Dance Magic is on a 1 yr WSDC hiatus until July 18-22, 2024. NO EVENT IN 2023.

___We still have more rooms in the block and they will take care of us with our 150 rate till the bitter end. 😀 Even if you show up at the event and decide you dont want to drive home, they will give you a standard room for the 150 rate if their are rooms available. Some have already taken advantage of the news rooms in our system but there are more, so you can hit the link below and still get the room you want for a great price. Dont pay 21.00 at the hotel if you are a big breakfast eater.
Friday and Monday mornings the buffet will run
6a -11am but on Saturday and Sunday it be extended until noon, for our group.
So, purchase 1,2,3 or all 4 mornings while we are paying 5.00 of the cost.
___Last but not least, Weekend Passes will still be available online until 169.00. but at the door on the 14th, they will be 179.00.

One week from tonight come join a local Florida favorite Jeff Mumford as he kicks off our Early Bird dance and workshop at 7pm Learn from Jeff some cool slot changing patterns in this level 2 workshop and look for his 2nd workshop over the weekend.
Thursday is a favorite night with tons of social dancing, the All American Jack and Jill contest runs at 10pm then social dancing till the wee hours of the morning. $40.00 for workshop and dance (or included with your weekend pass). Come out Thursday and help us kick off our magical weekend!

Our Room Block Is Gone!
Although the Hilton is trying to find additional rooms for our event, we find ourselves out of rooms. The Good News is that means we should have a great number of dancers at the event! The bad news is we need to find additional rooms for our last minute dancers to get a chance to stay and dance.

The room rate is the same as our room block of $150 per night. Please take advantage of this additional option for attending Florida Dance Magic 2022!

Florida Dance Magic- IMPORTANT HOTEL UPDATE!
EARLY BIRD ENDS TOMORROW AT MIDNIGHT

The Hilton has given us only 5 more double rooms for our Friday, Saturday and Sunday night inventory. You can go to the website right now and get one for any of those nights, if you hurry.

NOTE: If you also need Thursday night, book the ones you can get first then you will need to call Rajul at 561-472-9305 or Kamara at 561-472-9303 during normal business hours to add the night. That rate may be higher, but see what she says; she may adjust the rate, but no guarantees. Or you could possibly apply a Hilton Honors or other discount to that one night.

If you are confirmed with your flight and/or have your pass and you need a 4 night stay, we have at least one, we can transfer to someone. Please message us, and then call with your name and credit card.

Dancers please, if you are holding a room that you may let go of because you are combining with another or you cannot attend, PLEASE, when that time comes, pass it to someone you know who needs it, post about it on the Rides and Roomies page, in the event or the group OR let us know and we will take it. If you cancel we CAN’T get it back and people will end up at an overflow hotel.

REMEMBER – Tomorrow, June 30th is the LAST DAY for the Early Bird Weekend Pass Price! So grab one of these last rooms and register for your pass to save money!

WCS instructors who are competing themselves at FDM and are planning to do some pro-ams as well, can qualify for a weekend pass. Once 3 pro-am contests entries with your name have been pre-registered online, please message Bruce so that he can arrange your pass. Entries can be pro-am routines or strictlies but must be made by Tuesday, July 12th, so they can be entered 2 days BEFORE the event begins. If you have already purchased your pass your pass price will be refunded once your pro-am entries are in by the 12th.
