It seemed as though the FMB Christmas tree was a thing of the past, post Ian. The palm was gone, the clock was nowhere to be found, and all the businesses and most of the buildings in Time Square were destroyed. But the people of FMB are strong and resilient. All it took was one person to place a potted poinsettia on the site where the tree once was, and the people rallied to the cause! New palm, new framework, lots of hardworking people placing poinsettias, and BOOM! I couldn’t love this any more than I do! Sending love and wishes for continued strength to all my dear friends on FMB. ❣️🎄

The Putt & Pub Crawl May Have Been Canceled......But The Community Still Needs Our Help

The annual Putt & Pub Crawl is more than just a fun time to play a little miniature golf and spend money at Fort Myers Beach businesses. While that is certainly a fun part of the event - and very important for the businesses - this is also a HUGE fundraiser for so many local charitable organizations in our community.

Every year this event raises close to $10,000 for the organizations (listed below) and the 2021 crawl was going to be even bigger with the addition of a corporate sponsor.

And while we believe it's justified to be critical of the way the local government handled the situation, we also believe we should do more than just complain. So, here's what we're doing...

We're Crawling
On Saturday, January 16th, when the Putt & Pub Crawl was planned to take place, let's all meet at hole #1 (Nervous Nellies ) for our own "shot" gun start. We'll go to every location (see the course below), spend money, and pass the hat -- so these local organizations do not miss out on the money they desperately need to help them survive, especially during a year so many fundraising events are canceled.

At each hole, we will pass the collection plate and we will stuff it full of money. At hole #9, we will count it all up and make our donation.

In addition, if you cannot make the event, a special PayPal account has been set up by The Woman's Club (https://www.paypal.com/donate?hosted_button_id=7QQWUGHMZNDUA&source=url) where you can take action NOW and make a donation of any amount, at any time, between now and the 16th. John Lallo at Pete's Time Out has already pledged $250.00. And, today, Beach Talk Radio has made a $300 donation so we're off to a killer start, but we'll need everyone's help. If we work together we can surpass the $10,000 raised before we hit the course. We'll post a running update of the total amount raised here on our page every morning.
