If you asked me 10 years ago where we would be we both would have answered upper management in country clubs. We didn’t plan to do weddings but here we are! The company and passion grew and we wouldn’t have it any other way! This September will be 8 years! THATS CRAZY TALK! With over 2000 weddings checked off we have changed, grew, learned new ways, challenged ourselves, cried, works many many long days, laughed at ourselves, and made ourselves most of all proud! If you haven’t met us we are The Dews! My name is Rachael and my husband is Chris and we are the Owners of I Dew Events! We are a design focused company that specializes in rentals and flowers here is SWFL! We love weddings! We have two crazy kids Clay and Layla as well as two kitties Tito and Kettle as well as a old grumpy dog Coors! We are extremely active parents with school stuff as well as our favorite sports! We are a family company to the core and are so beyond blessed for all the couples that have trusted us with their day! Fun Fact Saturday

I thought some rainy day fun facts could brighten your day!

🌸My mom worked in the medical field her whole career - I was Food & Beverage with Events in the clubs before I Dew Events!

🌸We are both from PA (that’s where I was born and grew up) I moved to FL for FGCU and then met Chris and never went back! My mom moved here after Layla was 1 to the sunny warm Florida! Now she is married and staying too!

🌸We live 3 houses away from each other!

🌸We love seasons and it’s the number one thing we miss! We love fall especially since most of our brides request fall flowers to get a dose here in Florida!

🌸If we are cranky a coke will cheer either of us up! It has to be a bottle unless it’s coming from McDonalds - if you drink coke you would understand!

🌸We both knew nothing about flowers 5 years ago and have learned together through the years!

🌸My moms favorite flower are Ge**er daisies which we never use 🙃 mine is a ranunculus especially the blush or peach ones 😍

🌸We started our flower journey with only 1 slide door cooler! We use to bundle up, drop the room to 60s, and build in a self cooled area! We would have flowers come in Wednesday and do 14+ hour days Thursday and Friday to ensure the weddings were good! Now we have a 42’ walk in cooler and our life has been changed!

🌸We never say no to a design we just say sure we will figure it out! The first time we hung a 12’ flower chandelier in the air we were terrified but we did it and now have a dozen times since! Same with just about anything we try!

🌸We both HATE pampas but know we rock at it! We never turn a pampas design away since we know it looks awesome but gosh that stuff makes a mess 😂

🌸We also complain about babies breath 😂🫣 maybe since the trend has been here a bit longer but some florist just complain about certain designs 🙃🙃 we still love the end result but hate the smell!

🌸We love sweets! 🍭 🍦 🧁 We love it all! But not huge chocolate 🍫 eaters except for homemade brownies 🤤

With all the big moves happening we are hiring a potential full time member to the team in the flower shop! Would be working directly under Bobbi our lead florist! Needs to have their own transportation and be able to work Tuesday-Saturday. Does not need experience in flowers but needs to be creative and ready to be a team member. Can you believe it is almost 2020! We have had 61 weddings this year! We have traveled to the Keys and Tampa and all the in between to bring couples days to life! Some weekends were slammed - we did our first 5 wedding week and killed it! We love the vendor relationships we have built and can’t wait to continue to grow and build more! Cheers to 2019 and Cheers to 2020! We are so excited to jump into the new year with a busy January! Goal 62 weddings for 2020 😘
