We were notified today that our property is not correctly zoned and are now working with the county and city to finalize zoning of the property. During this time we need to pause our operations so we can focus on completing those tasks.

Starting a business comes with many hurdles, we are eager to get underway tackling this one. We are excited to enter the small business community here in Fort Wayne and really show off this beautiful piece of history.

As of right now we have contacted everyone with an event in December. As we get a more firm grasp on the timeline we will be reaching out to those who could be individually affected.

We want to thank everyone for their support and interest in our business. This is an unfortunate bump in the road we hope to fix promptly.

Introducing our owners, part three.

Kaitlin & Jason

Kaitlin and Jason have been married for 11 years. They have a son, Murphy and twin girls, Raegan and Elliott.

Jason works in the corporate world and also owns Overlord Carving Co. He was in the military for 8 years and during that time he deployed to Iraq with Tony. Kaitlin owns the The Wilds an Acton Academy which operates at Copper Top (how this journey got started), she teaches yoga and she has worked at Nine Mile for 21 years.

Kaitlins favorite project at Copper Top was restoring the original floors. Jason enjoyed working with our family to restore such a neat place. It means a lot that we’ve created something our family will be able to enjoy for years to come.

Introducing our owners, part two!

Tony & Mar

They have been married for 38 years, have 3 children and have 6 grandchildren.
Mar has worked at Nine Mile for 38 years. In her free time she enjoys renovations, decorating and shopping. Tony retired from the US Military after 27 years and spends his spare time painting, fishing and tending to the family tree farm.

Tony’s favorite project at Copper Top was the railings for the loft and stairs. Mar’s favorite project was designing the space.

Introducing our owners! First up is Jack.

Jack is recently engaged to Cassie. They enjoy golfing in the summer and watching football in the winter. Jacks favorite project at Copper Top was demoing back to the original one room schoolhouse and building the loft!

We are beyond grateful for all of the kind words, page likes and shares we’ve received since announcing the launch of our venue space! We started on this journey about a year ago with a vision that’s starting to come full circle.

Some questions we’ve received so far;

Kitchen?
Technically, no. We are getting a refrigerator and we’ll have a bar/serving space to set food on but no stove.

TV?
We’re going to get one soon!

Parking?
Parking in limited but we’re working on a few ideas. For now we ask for you to carpool when possible & know that we’re trying to make this more convenient!

When does the Grand Opening special pricing end?
12/31/2023 if your event is booked by then you’ll receive our reduced rate.

Can we bring in our own food?
Absolutely. We recommend Nine Mile Restaurant for your catering needs!

Is set up/clean up included in rental time?
We allow 30 minutes prior for setup if needed. Tear down/clean up will come out of rental time.

We currently have a few Fridays in December available as well as Saturdays, December 23rd and 30th. We are booking bridal and baby showers for the spring and graduation parties for the summer too!

The Copper Top is now available to rent as a venue Friday/Saturday/Sunday! Holiday party, bridal shower, family reunion, birthdays, we’ve got you covered! Enjoy this historical building built in the late 1800s with beautiful exposed brick, freshly restored windows and gorgeous original flooring recently refinished.

Grand Opening Special $200 for the first two hours $50 each additional hour. The space can easily seat 40-50 people with no additional charge for tables & chairs.
