The Bell Mansion carries more than the legacy of Senator Robert and Clara Bell. For 93 years, after the Bell family sold it to the Nobel family and eventually The Klaehn Funeral Home, it stood as a place where the departed were laid to rest.

On nights like Friday the 13th, the mansion’s past seems to awaken. Whispers in empty rooms, flickering lights, and fleeting shadows remind us of the countless lives honored within these walls. Is it the spirits of the Bell family, the countless souls memorialized here, or something else entirely?

⏳ A Century of Change ⏳
After Robert Bell’s death in 1901, The Bell Mansion changed hands and became the home of William K. Noble, a prominent lumber magnate, who lived there with his family for 22 years. Later, it served as the Klaehn Funeral Home for over 93 years, with an addition added in 1935 to accommodate the growing demand for services.

Today, the mansion—spanning over 14,000 square feet—has been lovingly restored into a stunning event center. We now host weddings, corporate events, fundraisers, bridal showers, and paranormal tours.

🏛️ Robert and Clara Bell: Pillars of Fort Wayne 🏛️
Robert C. Bell, elected to the Indiana Senate in 1874 and 1880, was not only a prominent lawyer but also a key political figure. He occasionally hosted William Jennings Bryan, a famed politician and orator, who even gave speeches from the Bell Mansion’s porch.

His wife, Clara Bell, was deeply involved in Fort Wayne’s cultural development. She helped establish the Fort Wayne Art School and co-founded the Fort Wayne Museum of Art, leaving a lasting legacy in the arts.

The Bell Mansion stands as a testament to their influence on both the political and cultural landscape of Fort Wayne. Come learn about their remarkable contributions!
