We just wanted to take a moment and congratulate these three men for successfully running their first PDGA sanctioned event The Crossroads Challenge.
From start to finish this may have been the smoothest flowing and running event I've ever been a part of. You could tell they'd put the hard work in behind the scenes and two of them decided not to play the tournament itself so that they could focus on creating a great player experience. All of this paid off as they had a packed field of 72 players who competed and had an all-around great experience. The Michiana Pro Shop was happy and honored to be a part of that.

If you see an event that is being ran by Aidan Hosler Jaden Phillips or Ren Martin, you should definitely sign up! Also, if you are in the Kokomo area and you haven't played the crossroads church disc golf course, you are really missing out! It's a beautiful scenic course with elevation change, A little bit of woods, some OB, some mature trees, and open space to air the disc out. Definitely worth driving and playing with your friends.

*ANNOUNCEMENT*

Due to a series of unforeseeable circumstances, along with some personal priorities with my ever growing family, I have made the difficult decision to step back from competitive disc golf for 2023. You will still see me around town playing with friends, giving lessons, helping run events, and playing some leagues, but the traveling and being gone for extended periods of time simply doesn't fit well for my current life circumstance. I appreciate everyone who has shown me love and support. I'm disappointed to let anyone down, including my sponsors, but this is simply the best decision for me and my family at this time. We're doing well, we just need to make some lifestyle adjustments for this season of life. Thank you for taking the time to read! Keep letting the plastic fly!

For anyone following along, this is probably the most credible opinion on the potential outcome of the drama concerning Prodigy vs Buhr.

Short summary: Prodigy "might prevail" in this case based on the contract and what is interpreted as "breaching" the contract's terms. Gannon will likely go unharmed in the long run and Prodigy may very well suffer from the "court of public opinion" for years to come.

One of my favorite things to do is spending time doing fieldwork and sharpening different aspects of my game. This love has translated into many opportunities to help, organize, lead, and teach disc golf clinics and give private lessons to disc golfers throughout northern Indiana.

I’ve been invited to lead clinics for churches, schools, universities, parks departments, and events to help kick off new disc golf courses. In addition, I have over 10 years of experience in public speaking and teaching that also contributes toward my passion to teach disc golf.

This past summer and fall I had many inquiries about private disc golf lessons. Due to my work obligations and a growing family (4 kids) I had to turn down many opportunities to give lessons but I referred most them to other local disc golfers who have a talent for teaching.

This year I am making myself more available for teaching disc golf from the ground up. I have a systematic approach that has proven to be very successful for the students who have had lessons with me.

One of my greatest joys was receiving text messages from students with screen shots of their rounds week after week showing their improvements and recording new personal best scores for our local courses!

The first session involves analyzing your play and trying to figure out “where would be the best place to start?” During this time I have given feedback that some of my students have said was an automatic game changer for them!

During our lessons we will talk about form, mentality, practice regimens, disc golf theory, how to use the teepad, and how to think through disc selection. We will visit different area courses to tackle a variety of challenges that are commonly applicable to the game.

During these sessions I will also leave you with homework. In order for the lessons to take root and matter, you have to be willing to invest some time doing additional field work on your own.

If you sign up for the 5 session bundle for $125 and you do the fieldwork that is suggested, if you do not feel like you have gained helpful knowledge, helpful practice tips, and added new tangible confidence to your game, I will 100% refund you your money!

Spots are limited as I am only going to take on 5 students in spring, 5 students in summer, and 5 students in the fall. Because spots are limited I would like to take payments in advance to claim your spot. I can accept Venmo, Zelle, or cash.

All of this cost is a tremendous support to me as a local professional disc golfer traveling to play events and being able to well represent our city throughout our region!
