Rotary Club of Fort Wayne has been a long time partner of ours!
Congrats Holli! We are honored to host your installation and your Team Smiles Event!
Service will be in the spotlight at Holli Seabury's installation as Governor of Rotary District 6540, 2 pm Thursday, June 13, at Parvkiew Field, Fort Wayne. Just prior to Seabury's installation, the national nonprofit TeamSmile will host a daylong free dental event at Parkview Field for more than 250 children who have not been receiving regular dental care. As Executive Director of the Delta Dental Foundation, Seabury understands the vital need for children's dental care.

Q: Why did you choose this event to coincide with your installation?
Seabury: I can't think of any way I would rather celebrate my installation than demonstrating the mission of Rotary: Service Above Self. The TeamSmile event is sponsored by the Delta Dental Foundation, so combining the service event and the installation is a perfect combination of my professional life and my Rotary service. While I talk a lot about change, the history of Rotary is combining professional and personal service and fellowship. I hope the installation will show the best of our past history and our future direction.
My Rotary service has been very tied into international service, and at the installation I will introduce a District-wide project to provide mobility carts to disabled individuals in Malawi.
Q: Why did you choose a more informal installation rather than the more formal settings of the past?
Seabury: The post-Covid the world has changed, and service clubs like Rotary need to change, too. We find that people want more service opportunities and casual gatherings, rather than formal events. Service clubs can continue to thrive, but to do so we need to rewrite the rules of how our clubs serve their communities. Itโs not your grandfatherโs Rotary anymore!
When I sent out the invite, Karla Fales of the South Bend club replied, โThis is awesome and such a refreshing thing! Service Above Self with a side of fellowship! Now THATโs Rotary!โ
