What sets Feeding Fort Wayne Kids apart? It's our hands-on learning experience! 🍳

Our seniors at Smith Academy For Excellence - SAFE Prep Academy recently learned how to make their own taco seasoning while mastering the art of measuring ingredients. ✨ They then used their fresh, homemade seasoning mix to create delicious quesadillas! Now, they’re skipping the pre-made packets and making their own from scratch. 🙌

Nutrients may not be a word elementary students know super well, but our goal is that they come away from our Feeding Fort Wayne cooking classes not only knowing what nutrients are, but also what foods are full of nutrients and what they do for their bodies!

We came up with a fun way to introduce "Tasting The Rainbow"🍓🍊🍌🥬🍇 to our students through Skittles by having them guess what fruits and vegetables are all the colors of the rainbow!

We’re back in the classroom! Smith Academy For Excellence is where we will be twice a week this quarter! Our Senior High classes are going to explore meal planning, learning how to grocery shop and our Jr High class is exploring nutiriom theough food experiments like making our own snacks instead of just grabbing a box of Cheezits at the store!!

Last week we started our first classes of the year and they were so fun!! Stay tuned for more updates and how we are nourishing these young lives!!!
