Today we are celebrating our beautiful Emerald Bride, Shayla!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Shayla said yes to forever this past November at The Rusted Chandelier in Hillsboro!

We can't wait to share more details about Shayla's big day.
Her advice to future Brides is: "Girl as hard as it is, don’t stress!! Give all your worry and stress to God and the rest will be what it will be!"

Let's go over some alterations tips, tricks and advice!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​- Alterations are something that you do not want to rush, we highly recommend giving yourself 8-12 weeks for alterations. You want to have time to make sure your dress fits you like a glove and if anything needs to be fixed it can.

- Alterations can be expensive so make sure you do budget for it. Alterations on average can range anywhere from $300-$600. It can be less or it can be more just depends on what you are needing done.

- Basic Alterations include: a Hem, A Bustle, taking in or out the waist and fixing the bust, straps or sleeves. All these things are common and are most likely always are needing to be done.

- If something is too big, too small, itchy, whatever the case may be communicate that with your seamstress. Remember you are the one wearing your gown, nobody else. So you NEEED to be comfortable!

It is the end of year and we want to give all of our SOON to be Emerald Brides some wedding planning tips!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​1) Give yourself TIME! Planning is meant to be thought out and thorough! Dresses do take a lot of time to create and come in. You don't ever want to feel like you have to settle.

2) Write a budget down and write down your must haves! Some Brides prioritize photography over having a videographer. Or even having a high end catering over desserts. Whatever makes your wedding feel like YOU and your partner.

3) Your wedding is a celebration of you and your partner. Don't let anybody else make you feel like you HAVE to have a specific look, vision, location, etc. This wedding is for you and your partner.

4) Ask questions and DO your research.
There are tons of vendors out there! Read reviews, check out websites, creep on their social medias, everything!

How many dresses is "too many" to try on?​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​We truly wish there was just a simple answer to this questions but there isn't.

Every Bride is SO different. Some can try on 5 and become overwhelmed... others keep going after 20. Do we recommend trying on 20 dresses at one time, no BUT it is always about how you feel and what you think about the process.

Some Brides try on 3 and say yes... some try on 13.
EVERY BRIDE IS DIFFERENT and you do NOT have to follow a specific rule. Just trust your gut and make sure you are healthy and happy!

Vendors play a huge part of your wedding day and you are putting tons of trust in these people to help your big day go just as you imagined!

It doesn't matter WHAT vendor, still do your research. Talk with them, read reviews, creep on their social media's and websites! You want them to have the mission as you.. to make sure your day is so special and amazing.

Let's go over timelines ...​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​It is soooooo important to keep in mind, wedding dresses aren't made over night. It would be sooo cool if they were though!!!

Wedding dresses can take anywhere from 16-26 weeks to come in. INSANE. This is why we stress how important it is to give yourself time to shop so you don't feel rushed or feel like you have to settle!

You want your wedding dress to fit you perfect, you want your wedding dress to feel like YOU!

Don't put that much stress on yourself to hurry to make a decision!

Here is your daily reminder to do whatever makes YOU happy!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Sometimes while planning a wedding, everybody wants to be involved... and you want to make every person around you happy. BUT this is YOUR wedding, nobody else's.. it is hard to not be a people pleaser especially when people are helping pay for things, but there is no obligation to do what THEY want just because they are choosing to help financially.

You and your partner are celebrating this new chapter of your lives. You guys will cherish this moment forever.. Aunt Susie isn't going to blast your wedding pictures every where and cherish them the way YOU are going to.

Having people's opinions help but don't let them choose your entire wedding for YOU!

Today we are celebrating our Emerald Bride, Karissa 🩵

First of all her wedding was a WHOLE vibe!!! They got married at Secrets in Riviera Maya Mexico. 😍

We wanted to share her experience with you guys. 🤍

“It was a fabulous experience. I had my mom, grandma, and second mom with me (aka my mom’s best friend- my parents are still married and together). Emerald was my second store and last store. Had gone to one other boutique, and the 4 of us didn’t think that I would be able to find a dress that beat the one I found at the other boutique. That didn’t stop the Emerald staff though!! The staff were so helpful getting my ideas of what I wanted, and they brought out multiple dresses that I had named based off of their website. None of them were fitting the picture and then the bridal assistant that was helping me asked someone else at the store about a specific dress that I hadn’t seen and if she could put me in it. It was perfect. The only dress I cried for. The staff was so helpful, attentive, and sweet! The experience was amazing!“
