BRIDES LISTEN UP!!!

If you have no idea where to start when it comes to dress shopping.. take notes or screenshot this caption.

12 months + before your wedding date: Start pulling together inspiration, research different boutiques and think about a budget.

10 - 12 months: Narrowing down what bridal boutiques you want to visit and start booking those appointments!

8 months: If you haven't said yes to your dress yet .. you need to do so sooner than later! You want to make sure you have enough time to order a dress that is in your size and still get alterations done.

6 months: Don't even think just get an appointment ASAP! If you want to still have time to order this is a super fine line. Depending on the dress and designer you might still be able to get a dress rushed to be here in time. If not, you will need to look into taking a sample off the rack

4 months: If you don't have a dress.. book your appointment and expect to take a sample home with you.

2-3 months: If you have your dress, your alteration process should already be scheduled, planned or your dress is in the works already! IF you DO NOT have a dress ... you are on a TIME CRUNCH - book an appointment, you will have to say yes to a sample dress to take home and get alterations started immediately.

Remember, you want to give yourself enough time and not make this process any more stressful or end up not enjoying it at all.

Today we are celebrating our Emerald Bridal Baylee!

Baylee was such a sweet person and we were so excited she became apart of the Emerald family.

Whenever Baylee came in, she fell head over heels for our Rosie dress! Hear is what Baylee said about her gown..
"I LOVED the train and the lace. The buttons going all the way down the back. It was everything. I wish I could wear it every day."

AS YOU SHOULD WANT TO WEAR IT EVERYDAY!

We are truly so so happy for her and happy to have been apart of such a special day.

When you decide to say yes to something, that means you are saying no to something else.

Even when you feel like it is so hard to say no, when you say yes... then you are still saying no.

If you tell us "I know for sure a-line is my fit and I feel confident, bridal and like me." (Obvi we support that, yay) that means you are saying no to anything fitted. Which isn't a bad thing. Wedding dress shopping is all about a process of elimination, but not a checklist. REMEMBER THAT.

You don't have to try on every single style, color, shape, material, or detail on a dress to say no. IF you love something and it checks a box off on how you feel and it represents who you are then the no's will be apparent.

We got you! Remember saying no isn't a bad thing!!!

Being honest with your stylist matters.. remember you are not going to hurt our feelings.

If you don't want to tell mom no, but you absolutely hate the dress she loves, TELL US in the fitting room and we can help you navigate that! You could have nobody at your Bridal appointment, and regardless we STILL have your back.

This dress needs to feel like YOU, we do our best to learn who you are but we are limited on time. We can't read minds, even though we wish we could so telling us how you feel is beyond important. Even if you can't put it into words or you think it doesn't make sense. Spill the tea, it is our job to do all the hard work for you.

Today we are celebrating our Emerald Bride Dillon and her now hubby Coltin!

Dillon is wearing one of our favorite timeless dresses named, Manor. The most important part of the dress to her was truly how she FELT in it. Listen brides, how you feel matters 100%!

Don't force yourself to settle for a dress...

What we mean is, if you are wedding planning do everything in your power to make sure you have enough time to dress shop. Yes, shorter timelines can work. You could always take a sample, but what if your dream dress is way too big or small and you are not able to take the sample.

You want to give yourself plenty of time to shop, make decisions, get alterations and figure out your finances.

Give yourself at least anywhere from 8-12 months in advance to shop, anything less than that can be considered pushing it.

So don't put yourself in a sticky situation and give yourself TIME!

Don't forget your dress is a reflection of you!

When people see you on your wedding day of course people will notice the dress and compliment it but YOU are the one that is supposed to be show stopper, not the dress.

Your dress should be an accent to you and your personality. You shouldn't feel like you are trying to be anybody but YOU on your big day!!!

Everybody who you bring will have opinions, but ultimately you know yourself best.. even when you don't feel like you do. YOU DO!!!

How many appointments are TOO many???

Everybody will give you a different answer.. but we have helped so many Brides through their dress journey and this seems to be what is average.

We have had plenty of Brides who came to us and we were there first appointment and they found their dress!

We have had Brides to go 4 appointments before they see us on a Saturday and they can't focus and they're overwhelmed from the amount of dresses they've tried on in one day.

2 or 3 appointments is a great number, sometimes 1 is perfect sometimes it does take 4.

But you have to do what is best for YOURSELF to ensure you don't get overwhelmed and then hate the dress shopping journey.

Here are some tips!!!
- Do not overbook yourself, only you know what that means to you.
- Make sure you do research on bridal boutiques policies and cancellation fee's.
- Remember you CAN find your dress at the first appointment .
- Lastly, do whatever you want to do there are NO rules, as long as you are happy and can enjoy the process that is what matters most!

To the Brides who are dress shopping today, here is your friendly reminder that YOU are the one wearing the dress.. nobody else.

You need to make sure the dress feels like YOU, not like someone you're trying to be or something that your mom always visualized you in.

This dress needs to not only feel like you but you need to feel so beautiful, worthy and deserving of this special moment. You need to look back in 10 years and say "that was so me in that chapter of my life and I look so happy and pretty."
