There’s layers to this Culinary life many will not fully understand, but that’s ok because that’s what we as Chefs are for. We create constantly because our field is ever curving. It’s not good enough to just present you with a dish or a beverage and say enjoy. Before a picture is taken to capture the beauty of ones culinary artistry, many components are gathered and thoughtfully assembled to bring out the highlights of the artist creation. This is what we call, “Garnishing”.
The garnish is usually thought of during the cooking or pre preparation process, never afterwards. The reason being the garnish needs to flow with your dish or whatever you’ve created. It has always been one of, if not the most important part of cooking to me. Because in my opinion many people can read a recipe and cook it. Its the presentation that sells to the stomach...
