Working on Synthesizer magic with the keyboard. Have a gig at end of month for 3 hours on my Korg synth. I can do a lot more with a synth than my normal grand piano, but I have to practice a lot to get good at it. I love the challenge this gives me.

A great week for piano. Wednesday I played for Lazy Moose 4:30-6:45 and a private party 6:45-9:00 PM. Last night Lazy Moose and a very appreciative crowd. Tonight I play at Lazy Moose again, filling in for another musician.

Having a great time at Lazy Moose this month. Last Thursday, we had two different groups. We had the "after work" group, who liked the quite soft music and then the evening crowd got there at six and I had to bang the keys quite a bit and speed things up. I love the transition from quiet to fast and furious!

Had a wonderful night on a December gig at Lili's. Last set was me and Brian Conger, a clarinetist from New York who graduated from Julliard School of Music. We played a lot of classics from Jazz. He is very versatile on his instrument and I was so glad to share an hour down music lane with him. A night to remember....I'm hoping to jam with him in the summer when he returns to Fort Worth to visit with mom.

Last night at Lili's, the place was pretty empty at closing. I looked around and saw almost nobody. But there was a table in the corner that I can't really see. As I got up from the piano, I suddenly heard this applause from that table. I walked over and they all stood up and introduced themselves to me. The guy was a bass player who played in New York with David "Fathead" Newman, who was Ray Charles soprano sax guy. We talked about music, people we knew and had played with and he mentioned "Hard Times", a song that I play. So I walked back to the piano and played a verse for them.....they loved it. It made my night, to say the least. I love it when people from out of town come by....it's so much fun for me.

What a wonderful night on Wednesday Night at Lili's Bistro. Had several friends come out, which really makes the night special for me. Dianna Conger and her friend Margaret, Dr. and Mrs. Hughens were there and Smiley Irvin, my great friend and photographer took the photo on my home page here. What a great night playing all the favorites. Working on some new stuff until I play week after next on November 29th on Tuesday.
