You'd be surprised how many djs I run into who really just press play and don't live mix anything! Here’s why choosing the right DJ is essential:
✨ Live Mixing Skills: A great DJ knows how to read the room, adjust to the crowd’s energy, and seamlessly mix tracks to keep the dance floor packed.
✨ Stage Presence: The right DJ hypes up the crowd tastefully. They know how to engage without being over the top or making things awkward. No one wants an event that feels like a cafeteria—the energy should be fun, confident, and smooth!
✨ Unique & Unexpected Mixes: In my opinion, there’s nothing better than a DJ who surprises you with amazing mixes. This may be just my opinion but I don't love the overplayed “wedding songs”—I love when a DJ plays unique tracks that people actually like to listen to, sing along with, and can’t help but dance to. Those unexpected moments on the dance floor are unforgettable!
✨ Vendor Collaboration: Your DJ should be a team player who works seamlessly with other vendors, like your planner and photographer, to keep things running smoothly and on schedule. I'd say I'm a pretty low maintenance planner to work with, and you'd be surprised how many DJs give attitude when I try and tell them an update🥲🤣
✨ Professionalism Matters: From showing up early to bringing backup equipment, a professional DJ is prepared for anything and ensures your day goes off without a hitch.

A real Hats off Events client budget!! I think these are always interesting to read. You really understand how each couple have different priorities based on how they spend money. For this particular couple they really valued catering. And photo/video!
Having a planner at the start of your planning journey is imperative. What you see above is truly just a snippet of what we dive into budget wise. When I hold budget meetings I love to talk through your dream wedding and estimate the total cost of that, when we see that it's above budget I help you reframe your priorities and also think of out of the box ways to get your dream wedding within your budget. What you don't see above is every little thing priced out and expected. I don't want to miss any detail! That's why these meetings are typically 45-1hr long!
Hiring a wedding planner actually SAVES you money in the long run. (Besides the obvious of hiring the real-deal preferred vendors there are many reasons you will save money) I can't tell you how many times I've come up with solutions to people's budget/desires for their wedding. Also having someone keep you on track budget wise through the whole process is really key.
Don't skip out on a hiring a professional, knowledgeable, AND resourceful planner!!!

For planners, it's so hard to market an 80% of their business. You see the end result and the pretty weddings but you don't see the hours and hours of research, expertise, vendor connections, planning, phone calls, meetings, problem solving, time, heart, and effort etc. it takes to create a beautiful memorable weekend for you and all the people you love. Even on a small scale micro wedding or even elopement it takes a lot of planning to do it right.
So when brides begin their wedding planning they don't realize until the very end that they wished they'd hired that wedding planner! Don't let this be you... rely on the reviews of past clients and trust us to make your engagement season stress free and full of joy!
