Traditions are one of my favorite aspects of every wedding. For Kelly’s big day she put a penny in her shoe that was handed down from generation to generation.⁠⁠
This tradition Was made popular with a Victorian rhyme – “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue and a sixpence in your shoe.” However, over the years, the term sixpence has been replaced with the term penny. And the penny was used to ensure the wealth and good fortune of the couple.⁠⁠

I will forever be OBSESSED with Jena’s delicate wedding cake this spring.⁠⁠
The mauve 3D florals cascaded down the cake and created a unique touch to her three tiered cake and was placed right next to the head table.⁠

I vividly remember driving down the drive leading up to this venue a few years ago and getting goosebumps as we drove in.⁠⁠
The trees down the drive honestly took my breath away & I was immediately inspired.⁠⁠
For some designers their inspiration comes from fashion or interiors; however, mine is definitely from the outdoors. From the animals on the property to the landscaping that surrounds a client’s house or venue it always brings me a rush of inspiration or ideas.⁠

Family ranches are one of our favorite places to plan an event for our couples.⁠⁠
Not only is it a fun experience for guests, but each event feels so personal & one of a kind.⁠⁠
It honestly where we feel most at home & shine! ⁠⁠
Since most of these events require a tent or use of a barn on the property I am able to combine my architecture background & Texas roots to assure the event runs smooth & feels like “Texas” as I like to say.⁠⁠
And getting to be surrounded my cuties like this isn’t bad either 😍⁠

Love when we get to create unique place cards for couples.⁠⁠
For Katie & Alan’s wedding we made vellum place cards for the head table with pressed roses behind each guest’s name.⁠⁠
Since Alan’s last name was “Rose” of course we had to bring in lots of Rose elements throughout the design. And this was just one of the many ways we did!⁠

When I design an event one of my main goals is to make sure each design element makes the event feel elegant, but also approachable.⁠⁠
This is always apparent in our place settings! Where they feel refined but not too “fancy” to where your afraid to touch the silverware.⁠⁠
This place setting is one of my favorite examples of this. From the stone charger, scalloped plate, and hand drawn touches on the menu it left a memorial impression on each guest, that felt “sweet” & elegant.⁠

Hi! My name is Shannon & I am the owner and creative director of Shannon Rose Events. And it has been awhile since I have shown my face around here so I thought today would be the perfect time!⁠⁠
I guess I should start by saying, that I love to use my architectural background to truly build weddings from the ground up. I can see a space’s potential in an instant—and then design an environment that will make your day one to remember. ⁠⁠
I love the logistics and flow as much as the aesthetics and mood. ⁠⁠
And I would say my style is both refined & approachable. I always strive to make sure each event has an elegant overall atmosphere, but I want your guests to feel comfortable enough to let loose throughout the evening.⁠⁠
I love incorporating natural elements and textures that echo the location into my designs.⁠⁠
And I am one of those crazy planners that loves to plan events on a fast timeline. It is normal for us to have 6 months to 2 months to put together an event. ⁠⁠
Whether planning a wedding for a few dozen guests or several hundred, our approach means that each one is customized to each client’s unique story and style. And I strive to make sure my couples are at ease from the moment we start planning until the last person has left your celebration through phase based planning methods.⁠

It’s so exciting to see weddings in full swing again & getting to meet with so many amazing couples the last few weeks!⁠⁠

Working with rich & unique color schemes has become our “thing” when it comes to design for our clients.⁠⁠
I strive to assure our couples have a color scheme that is unique to their preferences & favorite colors (not one they saw on Pinterest!)⁠⁠
I do this by asking the right questions, taking time getting to know the couple, looking at everything from flowers, the landscape or even venue itself for inspiration.⁠⁠
And as a result it not uncommon for our clients to end up with completely different color scheme than they originally had in mind for their big day. ⁠⁠
So needless to say I am grateful for the clients that I have been blessed with because I know it takes a lot of trust, but the end result is always inspiring & unique to the couple and I can not ask for a better result! ❤️⁠
